A Good Love
Spoiler Ahead Read At Your Own Risk This was book 10 in the" Masters and Mercenaries series". This book was a little different than the others first it took place at home Dallas, Tx. The book was about resident Psychologist Kai Ferguson and his office manager Kori Williamson both Kai and Kori have been interested in each other for awhile. Kai who is a sadist as always thought that Kori was afraid of him and in a way she was just not the way that he thought. Kori who was hurt by a former Master has hidden the fact that she is a masochist at the Sanctum she only played with weak Dom's. Kai's brother Jared who is a TV star who Kai hasn't seen in 12 years is shooting a movie at Sanctum it's one of Serena's books it's the one about Ian and Charlie he request that Kai train him as a Dom. Jared who is also under investigation by the FBI they think he is a serial killer and the FBI came to McKay-Taggart for help and they are willing to help Ian find Hope McDonald and his brother Theo. This book introduces us to some new players also like Mia who they think is working for the Collective turns out she thought they were. Mia is a reporter and the sister of a billionaire who owns a tech company she is following up on story her friend what killed after meeting Jared she thinks he is a serial killer also. I really liked Mia and when she got up in Erin's face letting her know that she wasn't scared of her she won them over except Case who has a crush on her and she on him, but he is hurt because she lied. Kai uses Kori to show his brother some things in the dungeon he realizes that she has lied to everyone and that she is the perfect masochist to is sadism. Jared who has an entourage and Kai doesn't believe that his brother is a killer and it must be someone in his crew. Jared's people were funny and they were getting on Ian's nerves. As Kai and Kori get closer they both have feelings for each other but Kori thinks that Kai is only playing with her and when she overhears him talking to Case she panics and think that he is using her and she runs right into the killer who is trying to kill her best friend and roommate Sarah because she got close to Jared. This was a really good book one of the best in the series too me although there are no bad books in this series. This book was well written like the other books in this series the sex scenes were hot. Both kai and Kori learned to let go of the past hurts that they both suffered so they can have a future together. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series Mia and Case I am looking forward to watching them fall in love. If you like a little BDSM with your action romance than I recommend that you read this series.

4.5 Stars - Another great addition to the series!
The tenth installment in the Masters and Mercenaries series centers around McKay-Taggart's resident psychologist and infamous Sanctum sadist Kai Ferguson and his office manager Kori Williamson. Kori is everything Kai has ever wanted in a partner—attractive, smart, caring, witty. Not that she seems interested in him. In fact, Kai is almost certain he scares her a little since he's known for being a bit more hardcore in his play than the other Doms.Since coming to Sanctum, Kori has kept to playing in the shallow end of the pool, sticking to Doms with a light touch—the friendly ones who wink and never bring their subs to tears. Her last Dom had used her, cheated on her and stolen from her, so she's hidden her masochistic nature from everyone at the club out of fear of losing herself in an unhealthy Master/slave relationship again. And though she wants Kai and craves his dark, dominant nature, she’s smart enough to stay away from him. Having been down that road before, Kori knows it can only lead to heartache. When the FBI recruits Kai for an operation with McKay-Taggart, his world is turned upside down. On the trail of a serial killer who's left a wake of victims around the world, the Feds have determined that every murder has coincided with a film crew being in the city. More specifically, with a movie or television show starring international superstar Jared Johns—Kai’s estranged brother. So when the production company filming the adaptation of Love After Death—a book written by Serena Dean-Miles as part of her romantic series Soldiers and Doms—comes to Sanctum because the film's star—Jared—needs a Dom to mentor him through the role of the crop-wielding ex-spy whose dead wife returns from the grave, Kai is forced to deal with his family issues along with a desperate hunt for a serial killer. And when circumstances throw Kori and Kai together, they quickly discover the chemistry between them is undeniable.Another great addition to the series, From Sanctum With Love is an erotic, thrilling, suspenseful story with a rich, complex plot. There was so much going on in this book, but I loved it all. The ever evolving storyline surrounding the McKay-Taggart team and the Collective takes somewhat of a backseat in this installment, but I actually enjoyed this departure from the norm. There was danger, mystery, secrets and betrayals, and of course...romance. And though this was Kai and Kori's story, the author provided plenty of teasers suggesting what's to come—the hunt for Theo is on!

Another Great Addition
Another great novel in the Masters and Mercenaries series.**Spoilers**This next story in the M&M series is about Kai and Kori. There is something different in this novel with Lexi's writing that I had noticed in Just One Taste (the M&M novella). I can't put my finger on it, but it's very enjoyable (not that the others weren't, this is by far one of my favorite series in the romance book world). It was nice to read a heroine confident in her own skin in the BDSM community that this series is centered around. Kai is dealing with having his Hollywood star of a brother in town, where a serial killer seems to be following, leaving a trail of dead women wherever the star shoots. Kai is forced to do a job he is not comfortable doing, forcing him to make decisions he is not comfortable doing. Kori has been burned by the Hollywood industry and in a twist of fate is forced to deal with what she'd been running from.Readers are anxious to know what's going on with Theo and truthfully, probably want his book, like yesterday. But the story needs to develop just like the entire Masters and Mercenaries series sub plots do. This isn't something new with Lexi's fantastic series and though readers may be impatient, I am sure it will be well worth the wait. We get some answers in From Sanctum, in the fact we know things are moving forward with Ian Taggart at the helm. (Seriously, Ian Taggart is one of the best male characters ever created and brings so much in even short appearances in the series.)The writing is terrific, the pacing is fantastic, the character and story arcs are spot on. The character interaction is always great and sometimes makes us laugh out loud. The backstory gives us some clues as to what is coming next. This is another terrific novel in a great series that hasn't lost its steam.

A fabulous glimpse into the lives of S&M with a twist of thriller and romance
What can I say about this book that won't provide plot spoilers?Kai is the sadist a deeply masochistic sub dreams of.The storyline explores S&M in all its glory and provides an in depth view into how those personality traits develop and relate into the everyday world. The sex scenes were haf and I would be honoured to witness such a master at work. There is love, intrigue and visits from previous characters that make the world of MT and Sanctum thrive. It can be read as a standalone but it really needs to be read as part of the series set in the world of MT.I adore the Doms of Sanctum and MT and Lexi Blake is such a fantastic author it's a pleasure to meet them all again.

Loved it!
this one was a little different from the others as there wasn't as much action in the way of on going ops it was more a murder mystery but with all the threads round the Mckay/taggart family still running through it.don't let this put you off, there was still plenty of action and suspense and some very hot sex scenes as well as the usual wonderful interactions between the amazingly written characters!LOVED IT

Once Again, Lexi, You've Hit The Mark!
Okay. I've been waiting for a dud in this series (sorry Lexi) since I first read 'The Dom Who Loved Me'. There almost alway is one. JR Ward's done it, Christine Feehan's done it, Sherrilyn Kenyon's done it and Lora Leigh was off the chart with here, they were so bad. But Lexi? These books are insanely good, so again, this book isn't the one. It was the Bond reference in the title that first attracted me to her books, because I honestly thought they'd be cheesy with a double helping of extra cheese! I've read every single book in the Masters and Mercenaries series now, and every single one is a winner. Without exception. Meh! Maybe I'm just a girl with simple tastes! The thing is, the plots are virtually the same. One of the gorgeous men from the BDSM Sanctum team falls in love/is in love with/has always been in love with but realises almost too late that he is in love with a female subject/co-worker. There's a bad guy who wants to assassinate someone or blow someone/everyone up, or sell super military secrets to even worse bad guys. Somehow, the love develops, then goes wrong - usually because the guy does something stupid - except in Love and Let Die (Masters and Mercenaries Book 5) , where there's a little twist. But, usually, the girl feels betrayed and goes to leave him, he goes mad with remorse, they make up (in the best possible BDSM way) and everything is right with the world - until the next book, where a bad gut tries to assassinate someone/blow stuff up... and so it begins again.Somehow, Lexi Blake makes this formula work without it getting any way boring. You become invested in the lives all the old characters since their HEA's because there's just the right amount of involvement (like there would be in real life), and you want the new lead characters to have exactly the same HEA. You know they will but you enjoy their journey whilst they're getting there. So, this 'episode' features the very 'together' Kai Ferguson, the Sanctum Psychologist, who vets all the potential members and looks after the mental health of the existing team, and his beleaguered assistant, Kori Williamson. His estranged brother Jared Johns, who has never once been mentioned throughout this series (Why would he? You wouldn't necessarily talk about your estranged family, would you 😳?), is a big time TV star, whose character has to go undercover at a BDSM club, so guess where he and his production team are headed for research? Well, those of you that are familiar with the series will know without a doubt that Ian would never allow a TV crew into Sanctum without reason. And the reason is that Jared is the prime suspect in a series of murders. So along with Ethan Rush from the FBI who, for his his own reasons, thinks Jared is guilty, Ian allows Ethan to conduct his investigation. Meanwhile, he (Ian) is using Ethan to conduct his own investigation into a continuing back story about the death of his newly found brother, Theo. And so the story goes - without plot spoilers - that Kai is a sadist, and in BDSM terms, it means he really likes to inflict pain in a mutually appreciative way. Little does he know that his mouthy assistant, Kori, is a masochist on a level that meets his sadistic nature. Who knew? She can't allow herself to indulge that side of her nature because she was terribly hurt by her last Master, who took almost everything from her. Kai and Kori have been working together for years, both keeping their darker passions hidden, but there's an undercurrent. Isn't there always? When they eventually discover each other... Wow! But it takes Kori a long time to submit fully to him. And to fall in love with him. But! Of course, Ian asks Kai for help with his investigation, which he gives and can't tell Kori. When Kori finds out, she feels betrayed by her new love, and Master - again - and Kai has to fight to win her back.We also find out about the relationship between the brothers and why they became estranged. Kai isn't as 'cool' as we think he is, and Jared is really quite vulnerable. There's also a little twist to him, too...There are a few more back stories, too. One featuring Mia, who is a new sub at the club. She's actually an undercover reporter whose brothers Ian is investigating regarding links to The Collective, who were responsible for the murder of his brother, Theo and have been a feature of this series from the very beginning; there's Erin, who's grieving for Theo and pregnant with his baby; there's Case, who clearly has a thing for Mia but won't admit it because he feels guilty about his brother's death and feels obligated to look after Erin and the baby. And there's Jared, who has a thing for Sarah, Kori's best friend, but he keeps rejecting her...What I like, no, love about this book is it's the same formula as all the others. I'm once again drawn into the lives of all the main characters. I thought there was going to be a nice bit of cheese when one of the characters, who is a writer, names her lead character Pierce Craig. Given the numerous bond references, I thought it was awful and highlighted it as a feature to talk about but, she even managed to get away with that one when one of our main characters say it's the worst character name ever!I wanted to give it four stars because of the sexual content. This one is a little darker than the others in the series. The whole sexual gratification through serious pain thing was a little jarring for me, and we never know the reason for Kori's masochism. But Lexi has given it great context, so in a weird way, for me, it worked. So I had to award it my usual five stars. I can't wait to read the next instalment. And the Lawless clan also have their own series coming out in August, by the way, starting with: Ruthless: 'A Lawless Novel'.Go, Lexi! Yay!!Oh, and I figured out who the killer was about a quarter of a way through the book. Of course it wouldn't be Jared! He's Kai's sexy brother, for goodness' sake. Love and Let Die (Masters and Mercenaries Book 5)

Powerful and passionate.
The story of Kai, the resident psychologist and Kori, his assistant, is very intense. They are both attracted to one another but reaching the point where they can be together is a long journey with much soul searching. There is an additional theme here of Kai's brother who is a well known film star but who is suspected of being a serial killer. The investigation into this helps to bring them closer together. This is powerful and passionate novel which I have read several times and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. I thoroughly recommend it.

Good reading...
I must admit, I struggled to really get into this one, which is odd because I relate to the heroine of the story a lot... I think I am just eager to get back to Theo is the issue... Still though, good to read and enjoyed the thrills.
