Feeble shovel
I was looking for a long handled shovel, should be simple enough, just a longer handle, no? Apparently not, I don't understand how you could engineer something as simple as a shovel to be so feeble. The shovel literally resists being shoved in to soft ground, defeating its purpose and making me feel pity for such a pathetic tool. If you need a shovel for scooping finely sifted powder with no resistance though, you have found your tool.

Well, it dug a hole...
I gave this 4 stars, but only because I liked the handle, and the handle seemed pretty strong as far as shovels in the price range. However, the spade leaves much to be desired. I bought this because it said "Made In USA". I hope so, but really don't think it uses American steel. At least I hope not, because the blade seems very flimsy to me. I was afraid to put much force on it, because it would twist and felt like it was going to buckle on me. It didn't, but then again it is only one small hole (to plant a small bush) in. I don't imagine it will last through very many jobs though. I might be surprised, but we will see. Like mentioned, I do like the handle though. It really isn't a 4 star tool, but I gave it 4 because in the price point, I think it may be pretty good in comparison. When it does break, I will end up spending a bit more for a much sturdier shovel. I wish they made them like they used to where you can jump up and down on them, and pry into some of the toughest soil and clay, but I wouldn't do that with this one, or most of them built today. If this is truly made in America, God Bless it, but, I am disappointed in it for that reason, and the quality of the steel parts.Bottom line: Would I buy it again? Probably not, I would spend a little more for a stiffer shovel. But that said, in this price point, it's not too bad, and it is made in the USA (So it says)
