This is a rather straightforward latch guard for in swinging doors that may or may not have a variety of wooden trim. They install took about 30 minutes complete with dragging tools out and going through the necessary steps of measuring and drilling. I dropped one star because I feel the door channel should also have one-way screws just as an added security measure but that's just my opinion Works rather well see the pics I uploaded

Go slow and it will go on the door easily. They give you two extra screws to set the plate before using the one-way screws. Nice catch in case an adjustment is needed. Not much to say, its made of metal, brass plated. I had to insert a 1/4" shim on my door plate to have it line up centered in the channel. The plate should block the screws on the channel when done right. The purpose of the plate is to prevent someone from sticking a screwdriver or pry bar in the door crack and push the latch away from the door frame opening it. Its best centered over the latch strike mechanism.

It is what i needed, i had my building maintenance install it so i can not comment on the difficulty-- but this arrived opened. It was clearly a returned item that i received which was really strange and not in the description, so i am taking stars away for sending me an opened item.

This matches the latch guard the dentist across the hall bought for his office. His office was broken into, which provoked him to buy these. I can take a hint when I need to. No one has tried to break into my office yet!They are easy to install and actually look pretty classy on the door.

These are great! I bought my first one at Home Depot and then they discontinued them. Thank heavens for Amazon. My house was robbed and I wanted to make sure that any more robbers would have a more difficult time breaking in.

I feel so much safer with this screwed into my door with the one-way screws. Just hope I don't lock myself out bc I will need a real locksmith to get in, not just a credit card.... (yes, I did that once...)

This latch shield is so hard to find when a bedroom door opens inward. The shield I was looking for had to go on the left side of the door frame. I went to Home Depot 3 times and came home with the wrong one every time!!! This website was great!!! Perfect transaction and would use again for a hard to find item.

It keeps people from opening my door with a credit card...

Installation is quick if you have a drill.I added a gap small enough to make sure that the door still closes.
