Product Description Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest theropod dinosaurs that ever existed. Its scientific name, Tyrannosaurus (‘tyrant lizard’) rex (‘king’) says it all. It lived in what is now western North America in the latest Cretaceous (68-66 million years ago). T. rex went extinct at the very end of the Cretaceous, and so is one of the last dinosaurs to have lived on earth. Tyrannosaurus rex was a large (at least 40 feet), massively built (5-6 metric tons), bipedal dinosaur. The head was huge, and the jaws contained lots of sharp teeth, some at least six inches in length! Each tooth had serrations on both the front and back edges, working like a steak knife to easily cut through the flesh of its prey. Tyrannosaurus rex would have been able to take down and eat any dinosaur it wanted to. This model is 8.75 inches long and 3.25 inches high. It has a dark brown back that fades to a cream coloured belly. The tail has faint vertical stripes that would have allowed this carnivore to blend into the surrounding trees and make it harder for their prey to see them approaching. Review: I bought it for use in roleplaying games, and it works for that. - Roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons have a long history of using dinosaurs as monsters in the game. So, what better dinosaur for a game like that than the king himself? Most fantasy roleplaying games, like D&D, use miniatures in the 25/28mm or 1/72 scale range. This particular T. Rex works pretty well for that scale, in my opinion, though some might find it a little large. To me, it looks almost exactly right when compared to a human-sized figure in those scales. The sculpt, paint, and pose are all very well-done. It's a menacing figure, realistic-looking, and really very sturdy. It would make for a good kid's toy, I think, but I'm going to use it for gobbling up D&D heroes.

Ich habe diesen (einen von drei verschiedenen) gekauft, weil mein Sohn sich diese gewünscht hat. In einer Bewertung wurde die Qualität der Dinos mit Schleich verglichen. Dieser Aussage kann ich nicht zustimmen. Das Material ist annehmbar stabil, aber die Bemalung ist eher "drauf geklatscht"! Kein Vergleich zu den Fotos. Die Farbe sitzt nicht da wo sie sitzten sollte, z.B. Augen nicht der Form entsprechend sondern übermalt. Gleiches bei den anderen Details. Ich hab sie jetzt nicht zurück geschickt, weil wie gesagt mein Sohn sich genau diese gewünscht hat. Aber das nächste Mal werde ich wohl wieder auf Schleich zurück greifen.
