Does this work to crimp cat6a wire?

According to the manufacturer's website it works on cat6a. “Klein Tools Compact Data Cable Crimper is a premium, long-lasting tool for CAT3, CAT5e and CAT6/6A cable using Klein RJ45 Pass-Thru™ connectors.”

can this crimper use non Klein connectors

it uses connectors with holes at the end so that it can trim the wires off after pushing them all the way though to the shield. It works great! The best part of this process is that after trimming the shield, it does not matter how long your wires are. Once the crimper is activated, the wires get trimmed at the outside edge of the connector. This provides a reliable and secure connection every time.

Mine didn’t come in original package but instead each item was bubble wrapped and the connectors were in a zip lock. Is that normal?

Mine just arrived, says shipped and sold by Amazon, and came in the storage bag with each piece wrapped in bubble wrap as well. No real original packaging aside from the manual/pamphlet for the tester included in the bubble wrap with that one.

How long of a cable can the tester handle

I know I have used it on 100' length. the tester is really easy to use. It will tell the result of the cable and not go through a test of all wires like some you need to watch. Good, miss-wire, open and short. It shows the result very quickly and accurately. The profile of the unit is also nice and small, working with a push of one button for on/off.
