It works for me.
I'm 75 years old with the typical lower back issues of a worn out body. During my later years and my back was hurting I have spent untold dollars on different lower back supports each promising to relieve my pain. Some were more trouble than they were worthand didn't really help much. Other's were cumbersome and really didn't help much. Still other's were too thick, it too thin, and you quessed it , didn't help much. Well finally after decades of being disappointed The McKenzie company has a swered my prayers. I can only speak to my individual case. Im not saying it's everybody's answer to a sore back. I am very, very satisfied with its capability and range of controlled support. The self inflation capability is not a big deal to me in itself but dies work. I can put my mouth on the valve , as per the instructions, and fill it up to any point of pressure , and close the valve. After it is in place on my lower back I can reach around to my back and turn the valve, ever so slightly, and reach the perfect pressure I need at that time. I spend most of my day in my recliner, which does not have lumbar support control. I love my recliner except for the one defect. Now that support has been corrected. I don't have to pay major money replaced my recliner just to get controlable lumbar support. Give it a try. It's not bulky or even heavy duty feeling. When I first opened the package I said "Really?" Thinking it was not well made or wouldn't hold up. Well it's been only a few days so longevity cannot be proven yet, but as far as form and comfort, I love getting out of my chair and not holding my back in pain untill I can loosen it up. I just get up off my chair and walk off without a second thought. Thank you McKenzie Co.

Leaks :(
Excellent product while it lasted. Unfortunately, sprung a very slight leak and as a result......unusable. Perhaps this is a generic problem with all inflatable pillows, but I did expect superior quality from OPTP (Dr. McKenzie's book was instrumental in helping with my recovery in 2012; still going strong!)

Definitely worth it
I wasnโt sure about this but it really worked for me. I had 4 back surgeries last year and finally went on an airplane last weekend. It was very easy to use and supported my spine either horizontally or vertically, depending on my pain/support needs. Very light. The fact that you can inflate or deflate in 1-2 seconds to your softness or hardness preference was convenient and easy. Glad I bought this. Itโs a well thought out product for ppl with spine issues.
