You are a Shaman, protecting the spirit worlds from the threat of the shadows since the dawn of time. But could the danger come from your own ranks? Each round represents a lunar cycle in which Shamans and Shadows face off. At the beginning, each player secretly receives a Role indicating which side they will be fighting on, as well as a hand of World cards with different colors and values. Will you be able to see through the schemes of your corrupted rivals and find yourself on the right side of this age-old struggle?

Visually lovely game, not so easy to learn
It takes a bit to learn little details of the gameplay, but strategizing is clever as you play both good & bad throughout the game.

Good game but could lead to hurt feelings
This game is semi cooperative. While you are on unknown teams, you’re really in it for yourself. You win by being the first to a point threshold and it will take several rounds until somebody reaches that threshold. Now let’s say you’re on a team that’s set to win, and by winning you will brake the point threshold to win, you’re own teammates might try to throw you under the bus to keep that from happening. This is part of the game, it can be mean. You may find yourself in king making situations as well. Overall I like the game, but it’s not one I play with everybody for these reasons

Missing card
Pretty fun game but mine only came with with 4 role cards (3 white and 1 black) which makes it impossible to play with 5 people.Anyone else run into this problem?

Worth every penny!
This game is amazing! It takes a couple turns to really get the hang of it (if you’re not much of a game player like myself), but it’s definitely a fun game! I haven’t played board games in quite a few years but this got me back into it. It’s fun for most ages as well. My son is 13 and loves playing. We play together with my mother who is in her mid 60s! Definitely recommend!!

Excellent Trick Taking and Social Deduction Game
Beautiful design, fun and rewarding card-playing and great tension between forces of light and shadow. Awesome!

The Only Trick Taking Game I Like!
This game has an amazing concept where you don’t have to match suit with the trick leader, I’m terrible at Euchre so I wanted to find a game that I didn’t have to adhere to too many goofy rules and scoring had to make sense. In Shamans there are good Shamans who want the pillar to stay away from the moon and they do this by following suit. The evil Shamans who want the pillar to land on the moon spot don’t want to match suit or be found out by the good players. As the game is played out there are also artifacts you can gain from playing suit and the lowest value of that suit, the artifacts can be knives, victory points, or other things that will spice up the game.As an aside, if there were ever a retheme of this game using the property of Twin Peaks with one side of the board having a pile of creamed corn and the other side of the board having a cherry pie and a smaller amount of spots in the middle of the board so Team Cooper could stop Team Bob from possessing a host. An Artifact for a world could be the ring, which if Team Cooper could figure out who was the host player they could give that to them for the host and Team Cooper to win victory points. Talk to me Studio H, I’d love to help with the concept and game design development.

Fantastic blend of trick taking and hidden identity
Very well balanced. Awesome idea. A little tricky to learn for very casual gamers but trick taking mechanics make it very approachable
