These are my favorite sketchbooks, I switched to them after years of using Moleskines and searching for something better that's not spiral bound or branded. This size and the larger 8 1/4 x 11 3/4 format are my go to sketchbooks now for work (architecture) and artwork. They fold flat and the binding holds up quite well over time, the paper has a good weight and tooth for accepting all pens, pencils, markers, etc, and takes light washes and gouache quite well. The paper is not waxy, so finer felt-tip pens can feel a light 'dry' on it. I usually buy from their website, but now that I know they're on Amazon I'll be buying them here.

I ADORE this brand's binder sketchbooks. I like them for pen and pencil sketches. Much better than moleskin in my opinion. The binding lays completely flat when and doesn't get in the way. The paper is very nice too. I didn't buy it off of Amazon, so I can't speak for the shipping.
