This was the worst rock festival in History!
Spent 3 days of Labor Day weekend there in 1972. What a mess! You saw it all! This book gives an excellent account of the debacle.

Each had their own experience, however accurate
Bull land was the almost forgotten concert. I'm glad someone took the to write their experiences , we could have used more consensus from the concert goers. All in all it's a very good book. I recommend it. My friends who were with me are no longer alive. I know have a few people whom by reading this book can share our experiences.. A+

A HIPPIE INVASION :)
i was at this Rock Festival with my best friend. we were both 17 and will never forget those 3 ROCKING days! Dan Davis does a fine job describing this event and all the good and bad that occurred. it's an interesting read about 1 of the LARGEST yet 1 of the most Controversial Festivals in history! The woodstock of the Midwest
Dan Davis has written a great description of the most unusual festival of them all. Imagine driving on a dirt and sand road to a remote island / peninsula in the Wabash River to find 300,000 other like minded people ready to party. Davis includes the remembrances of many who attended -- from the hilarious to the tragic.

It mentioned a personal friend that opened Cheech & Chong . . .
. . . and followed The Eagles.(I was in Vietnam in '72) the bands sounded wonderful;the living conditions, NOT so much!Nice B&W photos and illustrations.

Our honeymoon spot
My husband and I really enjoyed reading this book. We were married that weekend in Grayville, 10 miles away and spent our honeymoon there. It brought back many memories.

Purchased for Library
This book was purchased for my library, which is located near the site. Anyone over a certain age has a tale about that weekend. Those who attended, who got arrested and who woke up with a yard full of people using the garden hose to bath naked; it was a shock to the small community. The book is great, and has been a popular item. Thanks for writing it.
