I didn't read the write up and this book is aimed at kids. Not much use to myself, but a nice, well written book for children, or those who are starting to learn computer science.Don't feel ashamed to order this if you are an adult just starting out. These types of book are ideal when getting started.

This book provides clear simple coverage on the topic.its more python focused than I expected but it's an easy read; works well as a reference point on a specific topic.

Quite a few of the answers to the questions at the end of each section are wrong - how crazy is that? It’s a maths book.

I'm of the old school. I like to be spoon fed at the beginning of learning something. Not for me, the try it first and see how you get on, way to learn. That wastes time. So, I thought I would try this book because I want to learn to program ( even though I'm no spring chicken). This book is superb. Everything is explained, everything. It leads you by the hand, it leaves no room for doubt and you will learn so, so, so much, easily.The book is chunky but paperback size, the quality of the paper is excellent and the cover can be wiped clean. It's in full colour and their are questions and answers at the end of each chapter to make sure you understand everything. You will learn to program with this book and you will really enjoy it. Don't let your ego get in the way of buying and reading a book that many youngsters will use, it's a great method.I honestly can't recommend this book enough, it is first class, and the price is very reasonable. I intend to buy more books from this series because I love to learn and if the rest of the books are as good as this one, well what a great way to learn.

I ordered 5-6 Algebra 1 review books for my student to use for practice & reinforcement before taking her final Algebra exam, and also to fill in gaps on topics her teacher didn't cover. This is the best book of the lot! It is well laid out, engaging and interactive, the color schemes facilitate comprehension, and fits the bill in every way. It clearly lays out the need-to-know content, appropriately builds from one skill to the next, and provides a few practice problems with detailed explanations for each.The only topic I didn't find it to cover is piece wise functions.There are some practice problems but not a ton. If you're wanting repetition of lots of practice problems, this is not it.If you want to cover the material, ensure you have comprehension, and practice each topic, especially in an interactive and friendly format, then this is it. If you want to learn something that you missed or that the teacher didn't cover, this is it. Don't waste your money on the other books out there.
