Q: How do you fill the back end of the tub with water if you are using this to keep your kid away from the faucet and plug?

You will have to fill this end of the tub with a flexible shower hose, or a clean pitcher or pan. You will then have to remove the BabyDam by lifting up on the two tabs to release the water to drain it.

Q: what is the porthole for? Why is it best to keep it open when using a baby bathtub? Will keeping it open or closed affect product successfulness?

The hole in the middle is designed so you don't overfill especially with a very young baby. When the child gets a little older, more confident in the tub and is very stable then put the plug in and fill it up a little more. Always keep the water level below the max fill line which is right at the top of the plug. Remember - always keep your child within arms reach of an adult at all times while in a bathtub.

Q: How do you know what size to get?

Hello Mariel thanks for your question. You need to measure the inside width of your bathtub about half way up from the bottom. This Large size will fit bathtubs between 21" and 26.5" inside width. If your bathtub is smaller than 21" wide then you would need the small size which is not currently listed on Amazon except for overseas. We carrry it on website. Q: I was wondering if you can buy extra suctions? One of ours isn’t suctioning anymore

I had a similar issue than realized it’s probably not suctioning bc the previous owners of our house had painted part of the bathtub and that side was bumpy not smooth- so the suctions won’t stick as well
