Another amazing book in this series. Since finding this writer, I can’t get enough of her books. Love the plots, the twists and turns. I’m really fond of the characters and have got to know them really well. Looking forward to reading the whole of the series.

The Outer Banks is a beautiful holiday destination with nice hotels, RV and camping parks, along with a marina and the ever popular boadwalk. Carl and Peggy Pearson hadn't been there long but would never again leave under their own steam; their mutilated bodies found in the devastation of the van they'd hired, their daughter Lisa nowhere to be seen.Detective Casey White is feeling far more at home in her new town now, working homicide and enjoying her new relationship with Jericho Flynn. She is still waiting to speak with her missing daughter who she knows is in the area but not yet ready for contact of any kind. Hannah had been snatched from their Philadelphia home almost two decades earlier.Having thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series I held out great hope for the second one and wasn't disappointed. Casey and Jericho are great together and although the ex-sheriff isn't as integral a part of the story this time he is there enough to be a major part of Casey's life.The crimes are dreadful and the determination of Casey and her team to solve them realistic and satisfying in their thoroughness. I did work out why the crimes were committed as well as the identity of the perpetrator of one of the various linked cases quite easily. Each time it was because of what someone said which although realistic was nevertheless a little disappointing. However, as there are various aspects of the crimes resolved or escalated throughout the book there is never a lack of things happening.I really hope this series will continue and from clues along the way it would appear there will be at least one more Installment to come. It will definitely be on my TBR list as soon as it is released.I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers in exchange for an unbiased review and would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first offering or is looking for a high octane, multi layered crime novel to get lost in.

I just had to buy this book after reading the first book in this series. I had to find out if she finds her daughter. I won’t say anything else because I wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone who intends to read these books. All I can say is now I will definitely have to read the next book. I’m already in love with this author and I highly recommend those book. It was again just so gripping and I read it in two days. I could not put it down. If you fancy discovering a new author then I highly recommend B R Spangler to you.

Well gave the second book another chance, but found it was just as muddled as the first! Disjointed and hard to follow.

Cubical is an adjective; cubicle is a noun. Cubical walls are highly unlikely! Great story spoiled by the lack of a proof reader.

Interesting story on mind control of young people

All a good mystery should be, however, last quarter of book a bit predictable if you have read as much as I have over the decades!😂Det. Casey White is faced with the gruesome murders of a couple seemingly camping with their daughter in the Outer Banks of NC, and the daughter, a diabetic, is missing. What unfolds is a tale of revenge and retaliation decades in the making. As the murders mount, and teenagers continue to go missing, can Casey and her team piece together the clues to unravel the mystery and catch the killer or killers?A good read that will hold your interest throughout.
