Healing Lost Souls: Releasing Unwanted Spirits from Your Energy Body Paperback – June 1, 2003

This is a great book on the subject, loaded with good info. It's written for the layperson and isn't dry and academic at all. If you're just getting into the subject of spirit release and DIY exorcisms, this is a great place to start, but not the only book you'll need. The author, while Christian, does not let his religion get in the way of imparting the information and appears to be quite open-minded, saying you can easily adapt the techniques to whatever your spiritual beliefs are and they will work just as well. The book wasn't preachy at all and will thus appeal to a wide range of readers interested in this subject.I also recommend:  Spirit Releasement Therapy: A Technique Manual  (by the same author, but intended for professional hypnotherapists),  Spirit Release: A Practical Handbook , Remarkable Healings: A Psychiatrist Discovers Unsuspected Roots of Mental and Physical Illness , Exorcism: How to Clear at a Distance a Spirit Possessed Person  (you'll need a pendulum, sold separately), and  The Unquiet Dead: A Psychologist Treats Spirit Possession  (specifically for releasing earthbound spirits [aka ghosts] from people and homes, but not demons). There's some overlap between them, of course, but each brings something new and exciting to the table. Together, they make an unbeatable library for the layperson and professional alike.I would recommend also getting some books on hypnosis and past-life regression therapy if you are really planning to get into this field.Note that it is possible that not all entities may respond favorably to compassion, love, and forgiveness. If these techniques are ineffective, you may need to fight fire with fire, so to speak.  Practical Psychic Self Defense Handbook, The: A Survival Guide  offers a variety of more aggressive methods for depossession, as well as protection from current and future attacks, and how to heal damage caused by psychic attacks. This book touches only briefly on using compassionate exorcism.

This is an excellent read for anyone interested in how we are potentially impacted daily by unseen spirits. The author is a great teacher. I learned so much!

This book was a little dry at first, very scientific in tone, but it was fascinating and a gateway book into a new philosophy/ideology/spirituality for me which led me to books by Dr. Baldwin's wife, Judith. She adds a chapter that actually changed my life, and inspired me to read her own book, "The Inner Knower". (The language of her book was a little off-putting initially, but after adjusting my mind-set, it gave me a great "a-ha" moment and caused a major change in my spiritual life.) I highly recommend Dr. Baldwin's book for those with open minds, or even for those who already have a set theology but are interested in possibilities. I found his take on people struggling with gender identity and homosexuality, as well as different types of addiction and life struggles was revealing and possibly life-altering for those struggling with these types of issues. Just the stories of reincarnation, the effects that spiritual attachments may have on the living, were so interesting it made the book an amazing read. This book would be best used by those who are more advanced and secure in their beliefs and spirituality, however. For those less secure in their relationship with the higher power, it may cause undue alarm as it may challenge life-long held beliefs. I'm Roman Catholic, but found that my personal spirituality can bend enough to embrace many ideologies, as long as the core essence is that of love of God and our neighbor before all else.

This is a book that will be most interesting to professionals in mind work. If you are not "in the business", you will understand it however you may get a little bored with his stories and techniques. If you are curious about this type / method of healing definitely get it. And get it in paper, not kindle. You will want to mark pages, underline and refer back to sections as you work.

While Spirit Releasement Therapy: A Technique Manual is probably Baldwin's best and most complete book about spirit releasement therapy, this is also another wonderful and inspiring book with many examples of the good that spirit releasement does. Some of the examples are repeats of those in the above book, but it doesn't hurt to read them again if you are really interested in practicing this therapy. He also adds some more information about techniques.If you just want to learn about this type of therapy, this is a shorter book than the manual, yet is complete enough to give you the full picture.
