Several years ago I purchased a Motorcraft replacement temperature sending unit for my 5.0 Mustang, and it read 3/4 on the gauge where the original read half. This Standard Motor Parts unit shows half way again, which is easy to read. And its a lot less money than the Motorcraft part.

This sensor is for the temp gauge, NOT the ecu input. On my 1994 2.3 ford ranger the sensor location is on the driver side of the engine towards the rear, directly under the oil pressure sensor. It’s most easily reached from under the truck.

The temperature sender hadn't worked on my fox body since I bought it in 09, but after taking the 15 minutes to take out the old one and replace with this one, it's working great now! Should've bought this long ago.

Fine but had to adapt to opening

Bought this for my 89 mustang gt 5.0 because the temp gauge on the dash wasn't reading anything, it was a direct drop-in replacement and my gauge started working again 100%.

Arrived on time and works perfectly.

Works so far on the old 7.3
