6390: ALS, Level 1 Retention Duty Holster, Left Hand

Holster came new-in-package as advertised. Fits a full sized Glock. I tested it on a G17 (9mm) Streamlight TLR-1 HL and on a G22 (.40 cal) with an old beat up Insight M3.Both fit and held retention just fine.Other reviewers are complaining about the “lack of smooth draw,” but I’ll point out the retention can be adjusted to accommodate various lights. There are simple instructions for this in the package literally tied to the holster.Two Allen screws can be adjusted to lower your coefficient of friction. If you’re having trouble drawing or holstering try releasing a bit of tension on the screws. Two turns was good for me. Smooth as butter but secure.This model comes with the tried and true ALS “secret button” and half hood/half shield device. Removing the hood is ridiculously easy.It’s dummy proof really. Press the button with your thumb on your draw stroke. No bale to lower. Smooth draw straight up to your arm pit. Then present the weapon. A classic 4 stage draw holster.All in all it’s a great holster for lefties who want an alternative to their issued duty holster.Note: this holster is not for concealment. This is a DUTY holster. I bought mine because it’s on the approved list and the department doesn’t give you a new holster if you want a weapon light.DO NOT BUY THIS FOR CCH.Otherwise though you can’t beat Safariland. If you want a quick reflexive draw this is for you. If you want more retention devices get the ALS/SLS model. And good luck finding a light bearing ALS/SLS holster for a lefty that’s in stock and under $200.

Bought this holster for my Glock 19 with a TLR-7 light. Fit’s great. The quality of the holster is top notch and reassuring when carrying. Despite it only being a LV1 holster, it has great retention. The thumb release system also works well. Haven’t found any down sides yet, will update accordingly.

Of course, any Safariland is a great product, but the seller was great also

I've bought Safariland holsters and products on a regular basis but i have to say I am very disappointed in this particular product. My firearm fits overly snug to the point my holster pull has to be an aggressive tug instead of a easy and deliberate fluid motion. The sidearm release button doesn't work half the time due to the fitment of the holster. On the other hand the Safariland, 7378, ALS Concealment Paddle and Belt Loop Combo Holster is a much better item but unfortunately i can't find it in left hand. Overall i am very disappointed and I have already started the return as well as reached out to the vendor to possibly get a replacement.

Twice I have ordered a right handled holster for a G17. Twice I have received a left handed holster. Now, the return function isnt working. Spent 20 minutes on hold with no resolution.

Very pleased with product. Shipped in timely manner. Product was brand new in pristine packaging.
