MonteverdeInvincia, Rose Gold with Black Carbon Fiber Fountain Pen (MV40062)

The cap was faulty on the first pen I received. It is supposed to be a screw thread but it felt like the thread had broken. So I sent it back and got a replacement - which is even WORSE ! Not only does the cap not screw on properly on the replacement too, the nib is aligned crooked and is so scratchy that it is hard to write with it. I was under the (mistaken) impression that Monteverde manufactured good quality pens - this is quite the opposite.

Having quite an extensive collection of fountain pens this mid range pen is excellent quality for the price. It is not as heavy as my Montegrappa or as well built as my Dupont but also a couple of hundred pounds less expensive. I has a good feel in the hand, writes smoothly and as it is new I cannot yet comment on the rose gold accoutrements but they look solid and hard wearing. They are definitely rose gold rather than yellow gold. Overall a good mid range pen if you want to pay a bit more for a pen that writes well and feels good in the hand.

I was so disappointed by this pen that I sent it back for a refund. I can't say how well or otherwise it writes (though I have heard its skips and dries out easily), but it just looked cheap and tacky. In photographs the rose gold sections look subtle and classy but in reality they are too shiny and almost orangey in colour, the pen feels much cheaper than one might expect, I don't recommend it all. Monteverde have brought out a newere version of the Invicia, the Deluxe, fingers crossed that is a better and more attractive pen. Either avoid this or try and see it in person before purchase.

Es una de las plumas con mejor relación calidad precio que he comprado. Acabado perfecto, peso perfecto. Escribe muy suave.
