Volvik Vivid Golf Balls, Prior Generation (One Dozen)

I'm not sure how qualified I am to be reviewing a golf ball, but I usually shoot below 100, so here goes. I have been trying out a lot of golf balls this year, and I got the itch to get colored ones. After checking out the reviews I decided on these Vivid balls from Volvik. I got the green/yellow ones and smacked my first drive right down the fairway and then hit my 56 degree Cleveland right on the green. The chipping feel was amazing, same with putting. Throughout my rounds with these so far I really do feel as though they are more straight off the tee and controllable around the greens. That being said, I bought the pink, red, and orange ones... I'm hooked. They're also the most vibrant and visible ball I've ever seen. I actually had to take my eye off the pink one for a moment because it was just incredibly vibrant and it was hurting my eyes, and that's not a joke! If you're looking for a ball that you can easily identify as your own, get the Vivid from Volvik.

I love these. First of all they are so brightly colored, you cannot miss them in the air, or on the fairway, so you can really see how the ball flies even with glare. Their matte finish gives me the illusion that they may take more spin, which is why it works so well with slower swing speeds. I'm not sure why these are the first matte ball out there. Perhaps due to durability, because if you shank these with a forged wedge you can cut them, which is kinda new for today's 3 piece balls. I can remember balata, etc. Cutting those was easy. These are not like that, but they seem a little easier to cut than other balls I have played. But if you want to hit great shots when you put a good swing on it, I have had great success with this ball.

Love these balls. No need to mark your ball anymore. Chances are very good that no one you are playing with or that is on the course has these. They are so easy to find and track during flight. The florescent green color is addictive. You will find others that want to help you find your ball just because it's so cool looking. I also find it easier to hit than white balls. Also, the line with the arrow at the end is great when lining up your putt. Honestly, I don't see any great improvement in distance with these. Maybe a few more yards, but the other benefits are worth using it. Feels good off the putter. Volvik has a great product here. I suppose more people will be using it soon so I'll have to invest in some type of marker in the future.

These are very, very good balls for those playing something akin to a Titleist NXT Tour with a little more spin than a Titleist Velocity.I agree with the other comments around the high visibility. It can take a little adjustment the first couple times off the tee because of the contrast in brightness against the green grass.These balls seem pretty durable as well. It may be because of the matte finish or the color that may hide any blemishes but the balls genuinely don't seem to scuff too easily.The only reason I gave it four instead of 5 yards is that I wish the ball flight were a tiny bit higher. That's why I say it's somewhere between an NXT Tour and a Velocity.

Very durable, decent spin with the wedges. Love the vivid green, I'll buy more of these.Distance off the driver is comparable to PRO V1, Callaway Chrome Soft, etc. Spin off the wedge is nearly as strong as PRO V1.Seem to be pretty durable and certainly are easier to find.They attract some attention, that's for sure. Everybody wants to look at them.

I really like the Volvik vivid balls. They have a nice soft feel, put easy, and are great for us golfers that end up on either side of the fairway (or rough).These balls work well for beginner and for those with a say 18+ handicap.Every time I play these balls I get compliments on how different they look from every other ball people may see.They are a matte color that is bright. Brighter then safety vests to the point that they almost glow. They roll soft on the green and don't spin too much which makes me look good with my golf buddies.I highly recommend these for someone with a slow to moderate club head speed, or for a golfer that frequently loses the white ones.

The golf balls came in a net. The colors of the pink balls were not the same. Looked like really clean second hand balls.

So, my wife bought a box of these because she wanted to give them a try. She's a good golfer and can easily tell the difference between different brands/compressions of balls. She likes the Bridgestone E6, I like the Titleist NXT's; but I digress. At first I hated these Volvik balls because I thought they were short on distance and hard as stones. But, after three rounds of using them, I've fallen in love with them. They're not short by any means, in fact they are longer then the Titleist balls I've been using. They are good around the greens, and best of all, they go straight. That is: they do not magnify your mis-hits. They are a little firmer then the Bridgestone E6 or Titleist NXT's; kind of similar to the ProV1 in that regard. The only caveat I would offer is that I do believe they may be better suited to golfers with a little higher swing speed.

Best golf ball I ever owned. I am not getting any extra distance but it goes exactly where I aim it. Drives, irons & putts all got better. I have not used it on a full round yet (just safe holes where I don't think I will lose it) but if it performs the same as it does on the holes I used I should be able to take 1/2 dozen strokes off my game.

I love these balls, they are pleasing to my eye and as a result have better ball strikes. Also, easy to find them in the rough where I often land. Good soft feel for chipping and putting.

Hit well, no better than the other balls I was using, but visibility great. I was able to follow the flight & find my ball super easy. Delivery was fast also.

Excellent balls all around. For 90 plus swing speeds but man you can see them from everywhere. Even ponds.

Harder & goes further than DS77. Not as hard as iV. For golfers with slightly faster swing speeds.
