Works Great!
This is a wonderful size and does more than I could ask for. Sliced our cucumbers and shredded a block of cheddar with so much ease. Much easier to make pesto now

Defective parts
This food processor arrived, defective. I could not even Test it because the lid to the machine would not fit into the space it should have. Therefore I could not lock it and process anything. It was very frustrating.

I bought this Cuisinart Food Processor to replace our Kitchen-aid processor that died after 20 years of service. I choose this model because I didn't want a BIG 12 Cup processor and a 4 cup unit was too small. The 6-8 cup size is just right for our family ... not too big ... not to small. As far as quality is concerned this Cuisinart Processor is well made but is much lighter than our previous Kitchen-aid unit. The difference in weight is mainly due to the motor. While this Cuisinart does the job, on heavier tasks you can really notice the difference in motor power. While the motor seems to be the biggest differentiator between our old and new food processor the medium blade on this Cuisinart is preferred to the standard blade on the kitchen-aid. The medium blade slices cucumbers for pickles thicker and shreds cheese better than our previous kitchen aid. The design of the cutting blade and collection tub collects some debris and is more difficult to clean than the kitchen-aid but all in all this Cuisinart is also fairly easy to clean. All in all this Cuisinart does the job and was 40% less money than the comparable Kitchen-aid unit which is the main reason I chose to buy it. The motor strength is adequate for my needs however if you are a baker or a die-hard food processor user you might want to consider the kitchen-aid over the Cuisinart and spend a few more dollars initially, in the long run it would be worth it. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend purchasing this unit based on price.

I've used this a number of times and can say i am pleased with the performance. This one has a plastic chassis, not stainless steel. When you handle the machine, you can feel the weight of the motor in it. I wish there were no seams around the buttons because thats where it is hard to clean... otherwise, everything except the base goes in the dishwasher, top rack. I wish also that the chassis didn't feel so cheap, but I rather like to money in my pocket better... and it is a medium duty machine not at the pro level. It is quiet and the recipes in the booklet are very good, the Ceasar dressing especially good. November 10, 2025: Still quite pleased with this purchase. If i have anything more to say would be to by the largest one 14 or 16 cup as there are times when the only problem is capacity. Update, April 20, 2023: This machine has done everything I've asked it to do. It's getting 2 or 3 uses a month. Humus, Pizza dough, shredding cabbage, pastry dough. No issues so far except that i feel should have gotten a bigger one between 11 and 14 cups. Don't let the flimsy handle comments stop you (unless that will drive you nuts, then don't buy this one). At first, I thought, Wow, cheapo; the handle should really be redesigned to be sturdier. That said, I adjust my use to not grab it by the handle but by the sides. Good purchase.
