Warm colored light
I love the warm glow this light produces. It's not bluish/cold like some of the other LED grow lights. The remote makes it very convenient.

For the money, a great standing plant grow light, with other uses
About four months ago, I was offered a free Candyfouse 200W LED Gooseneck Grow Lights with Tripod base for review via the Amazon Vine Program, and I accepted.I have a grow light bulb for growing vegetable seedlings before transplanting into the garden, but I wanted something more flexible that covers a larger area. I thought I would try this four gooseneck head, tripod-base, standing light set and it works great. The lights and tripod ship folded nicely into a relatively small box. If you're a photographer or work in the business, you'll notice the tripod is very light and relatively flimsy, but it is fully capable of supporting this light set for it's intended purpose. So, lets assemble this. First the tripod. Loosen the snap lever on the tripod base and fold it out so that the legs extend down from the bottom, then tighten the snap lever - be careful not to over-tighten the snap lever. For the sake of stability, you're better off positioning the legs so that they are extended out further rather than putting them in a more compact pattern. Next, you'll loosen the three snap levers on the center column, extending the column to the height you desire. Tighten them into place except for the top, you'll need that loose so that you can turn that section easily, so it can be screwed into the base of the gooseneck light attachment. Remove the rubber thread cover on the head. Line up the gooseneck light base with the screw on top of the tripod. Carefully thread the screw into the gooseneck base and turn the top tier of the tripod to screw it into the gooseneck (which is why you leave the last section loose). Now you can adjust the height of the last tripod section and tighten the last snap lever. You'll notice that the weight of the light section makes the tripod top heavy and, depending on how you bend the gooseneck lights, the tripod shaft may lean towards the heaviest side. That's okay, I'm just noting that. Again, this is not a professional or even amateur level camera tripod/light stand. But it is fully capable of supporting the light set.Now you can adjust the gooseneck stalks to cover the area you want to light. Depending on how you position them, you may want to orient the base so that they are best supported. The light stalks are very easy to bend and position but they stay in place where you put them. Now you can plug in the brick power supply which attaches to the light controller via a barrel connector. The controller is simple to understand and it works well. A main power on/off button to turn it on or off. You can either turn the lights off one at a time with a single press of the power button or hold it down for a second to turn them all off at once. So using the power button like this, you can activate just one or all four of the lights, depending on your needs.A (+) and (-) button to adjust the brightness up or down, in ten total steps. You do need to press the (+) or (-) buttons for each step as holding the buttons down does not advance the setting. At full brightness, with all LEDs activated (more on that below), it's a pretty bright light - I'd estimate it to be the equivalent of a 100W incandescent. At the lowest setting, it would make perfect dim ambient lighting for watching a movie.Between the (+) and (-) buttons, there is a button with two cycling arrows. That button switches on or off sections of LEDs on the lights in three stages. The function seems to be leftover from multi-color grow lights where you could use it to turn on or off specific light spectrums for various stages of plant growth. As this is a daylight lamp, there are only daylight LED beads, so this button switches sections of the light on or off. It can be used to further dim the lights down to where only every 3rd row of LEDs is lit or turn them all back on.Finally, the controller has a built in timer function with 4, 8 and 12 hour on cycles per 24 hour day. The timer is based on when you first activate it. So if you set it for 8 hours, for instance, and you did that at 8am, the lights would stay on (at the brightness settings you set) for eight hours and turn off for the next 16. The timer will automatically turn them back on at 8am the next morning, and so on.There is a small remote control, that works on radio signals, so you don't need to point it at the light for it to work. You don't even have to be in the same room. It works from a good distance away. It has all of the same functions as the wired light controller and is just as easy to use.Overall, for the money this is a GREAT grow light for the home for starting seeds or providing fully grown plants with time-cycled daylight. But this light can also be used in a living area to bounce light off the ceiling like a torch light or it could be even be used for lighting for a webcam or lighting products to photograph. It is very versatile. It looks as if the gooseneck lights could attach to a better tripod, but the wires may be in the way of doing that - however, it may possibly work with a dedicated light stand.
