Riffe J-Type Snorkel

If you are purchasing a snorkel for that "once in a lifetime" trip to Kuai, this may not be the snorkel for you. If you want a snorkel that is easy for casual sightseeing, you may want a dry snorkel.If you are an experienced snorkeler, or plan to become one, this snorkel really can't be improved. It's rugged, solid, and not prone to failure. It has no gimmicks. It's wide gauge tube allows you to breath heavily under hard use. There's no stopper or dry valve to cut off your air when snorkeling through surf. The mouthpiece is relatively comfortable, yet easy to spit out if needed. The silicone strap takes a bit more time to attach, but is less prone to fail. There's no purge valve to get clogged--which isn't a problem if you know how to properly purge a snorkel.Really, this snorkel is perfect because of what it doesn't have. If you have taken the time to become comfortable with a real snorkel, this is the product for you.

Excellent Expedition Snorkel… KISS

This snorkel is an essential snorkel to have in the freedive bag. Even if you use a more technical snorkel that assists with splashing, I suggest bringing one that has no moving parts and very reliable. I had a piece of sand or something stuck in a valved snorkel and this one came in handy with a quick swap.It has now become my preferred snorkel as it seems to pull air easier and efficiently. I use this one first and my other one is now my backup.

I like the style of snorkel, but the rubber piece to keep the snorkel on snapped on my first time out and I nearly lost the snorkel. You would think for the price they would have something a bit more robust to keep the snorkel attached to the mask.
