Magpul MAG480-ODG MOE Fixed Carbine, Olive Drab Green

For the most part, I’m not a fan of fixed stocks. However, they do serve a purpose and can be helpful on some builds. I wanted a lightweight, simple fixed stock that I could set the length of pull on. If you install this per the instructions you will have an short LOP, good for shorter people. This worked great for my purposes and has a nice grippy butt pad.I ended up ditching the decorative nose piece and installed the stock at my preferred length. If you put the stock anywhere other than fully slid onto the buffer tube, you will notice that the screw won’t fit through. I just drilled out the correct location for my length, using a slightly smaller bit and threaded it through. Used the stocks screw hole to guide the bit, but made sure only to drill through the buffer tube and not through to the threaded side. This shouldn’t prevent the use of a multi position stock later on, but it would not be difficult to just put a new buffer tube on...

I give it 5 stars because it is quality made. I love it and hope that I can use it however it did not work for me.S&W M&P15 Sport II OR with CA compliant won't fit. I checked everywhere, all the forum, YouTube review, seems surely it is mil spec for the buffer tube. However, IT IS NOT for CA featureless AR. Since it is not a collapsible stock, it uses rifle stock instead of carbine stock.Edit: I was returning it, but I ended up keeping it. I order a collapsible buffer tube, replaced the one came with my M&P15. Installation for both the buffer tube and the stock only took 5 min. Looks good, and feels good.I had to return it and ordered Magpul MOE Rifle Stock.

I dig it, I put on an M&P15 Sport.It went on real easy and fits tight. Perfect LOP for me with a square, aggressive stance with armor, kinda short for prone...but that's not what really happens with this rifle anyway. I needed just a touch higher cheek rest, so I wrapped 550 cord around the top, and got just the right rise.

Lightweight, simple and effective, stays locked in place well and no wobble. Few things that bother me are the grip does not come with the QD inserts which is pretty ridiculous considering they probably cost the company a penny to produce and the stock has two holes on each side you aren't able to use until you purchase the inserts which are outrageous in price for what they are. Second thing is I had to purchase the thicker optional pad which I also feel like should just come with the stock. Third thing is the bottom portion of the padded area should be angled as it would help shoulder the weapon faster and more comfortably.

Overall the stock is well made, solid and easy to install. The problem is the LOP or length of the stock. It is VERY short, to the point of uncomfortable to shoot. There is also no way of making it longer. Based on this I had to return the stock and continue my search. If Magpul could create a spacing device to adjust the LOP, then this would be a keeper.

Great for those folks in CA who need a "fixed" stock to be "featureless." Two adapters are provided that make the length of pull semi adjustable. Can be used with the standard "carbine" adjustable buffer tube assembly but be sure to determine whether you have the "MILSPEC" or sport buffer tube assembly and buy the right stock accordingly for proper fit. Good luck pursuing your 2A endeavors.

I was looking for a cheap stock to go with the magpul OD green rifle handguards and this fit the bill. the rifle is a dissapator which i think look terrible with a collapsible stock so i got this one. Its a bit heavy there is alot of plastic in this stock you aren't going to break it easily but there aren't any traditional position sling attachments. just ones on the side. There is also a pocket for an optional qd connection. over all i like it alot. Install was super easy.
