Better for archaeology students
This is undoubtedly a very good book. It's just that I lack the knowledge to appreciate it fully. It deals with some very interesting subjects of archaeology, but I found it didn't grip, mainly because I didn't understand enough about the subject.

Bought for my son in law who is absolutely delighted with it.

The depths of history and prehistory
Great as a broad overview of archaeological sites and techniques that illuminate so much of Britain's past. Particularly interesting to read as a lapsed field archaeologist.
