I obviously dont want to run heat all night long in baby's room, it would get too hot.** A: You use the dial to set the heat level. Then the unit will kick the heat off when it reaches that level (if the fan goes off that is up to your setting for the fan). In our experience, any setting above 1 and a half is too warm for a nursery, as we want to keep the room on the cooler side for sleeping, along with the blanket sleepers we have baby in. We find setting it at 1 for a 10 by 10 room is perfect and leaves the room between 70 and 71 degrees consistently. **Q: how do you clean the fan blades?** A: I would buy a can of compressed air and just spray the blades **Q: Can i place on a rug because i dont think we can, but the pictures clearly shows we can?** A: If it's a firm rug it should work. If it's soft the sensor on the bottom probably won't make enough contact to turn on the heater. **Q: I got this product about 2 months ago. and now it keeps turning off during the night. and making my child’s room cold if it’s off. what can i do?** A: Mine does the same. I have it on auto and it doesn’t seem to turn back on once it goes off. I’m usually up in the night checking the temp on baby monitor and have to go in and turn down if it’s too warm or turn up if it’s too cold.
