Incase Mag Snap Case iPad - Black

I wanted protection but I did not want to give up the usability of it by getting one of the bulkier cases. Its a trade off though, if you want more protection against drops and shock get one of the bigger ones, however I disliked the bigger and more expensive cases because they make the iPad heavier and not as comfortable for holding for longer periods of time. If I drop it and it cracks I guess i'll make use of the squaretrade warranty I have.This case is great for some one who wants to be able to use the ipad how it should be. It will prevent the back from getting scratched but I would not trust it fully for a full on drop on hard surfaces.All the ports are easily accessible except if you have a cellular iPad, you will have to pop off the cover to get to the sim tray. This is not a big deal as I do not need to swap sim cards often. It also works great with the apple Smart cover, the magnetic is great so the cover is flapping around while in use.again this case is not for everyone, if you want more protection I would go with the otterbox or something similar.

While it would be nice to have more coverage on the top and bottom edges, this is an excellent slim backcase to go with an apple smart cover. The 2 magnets in the back make it more functional than similar cases from Speck and Incipio. It doesn't make it insanely more functional (the angles are only marginally different from what the smart cover already offers), but it's nice to have that flexibility if you want it--some like their keyboards flat, some like them at a sharp angle, for example. Fit isn't as tight as the case-mate barely-there for my iPhone, but it doesn't feel like it'll be coming off on its own. The soft touch matte finish is nice, although more teflony than grippy. Fingerprints aren't too noticeable. The black color goes nice on my black iPad. It doesn't come with much drop protection, but that's not what it's supposed to do. It's a product that does its job and I like it.

I bought this at the end of October and had problems with one of the magnets pulling off, just like others. I was too busy too consider returning it, and the magnet would stay in place for a little while at first. I finally decided to try gluing it with super glue as someone suggested, but now the back of the case is messy because glue spurted out the sides even though I tried to limit the amount of glue.I bought this case to replace the original one I bought with my Ipad 18 months ago. That magnet started to pull free after about a year, but didn't pull off as regularly as this case.I should not have had to glue this in the first place. I decided to try to return it, but found that the return period is one month after purchase.This case is absolutely not worth. So now I am stuck with a sloppy back, very unprofessional, and will need to buy a new case less than 3 months old and otherwise in excellent condition.

It worked great than one day I notice there was a big chip in the corner... Since than I haven't been able to use it because that is what keeps it in the case. I didn't drop it or anything just in my school bag in a padded compartment. You decide though, wish there was a warranty on it for random things like this. When it worked though it was great! having two spots made it really nice and accommodating for personal use!

As of today (June 1, 2013) I am revising my rating from 5 stars (see my initial February review below) down to 1 star, and I'd give it zero stars if that were possible. This past Thursday, I inadvertently dropped my iPad3 2 feet, it hit the floor on its corner and the case's corner broke in a way such that the corner of my iPad3 made direct contact with the floor and was injured. Unlike other products which cradle or wrap around the edges to provide shock protection to the case, this product fails to provide shock protection to the edges. I'm going to look into the Otter Box for iPad. Hopefully it will cover up the damage done by this snazzy but deficient product.Original 5-star review:I looked at literally dozens of options, and tried every iPad holder and case at the major office supply chains. Coupled with the Apple Smart Cover, this solution trumps the all. The magnetic feature provides for the optimal viewing position, which it's competitors lack. In addition, this case is truly compatible and complementary with the Apple Smart Cover. Other cases claiming to be compatible were not, and this cause the Smart Cover to fall off.One of my wisest purchases ever! (NOT)

I love the slim, sleek design and the fact that the magnets on the back holds the apple cover really well. My only complaint would be how sensitive the corners of the case are. Two of the four corners have broken at some point so it doesnt hold my ipad very snug. Other than that, ive really enjoyed the case.

I returned the item, primarily because it was only the back and not the cover that the pictures led me to believe. Then again, probably my fault for not reading all the reviews. I had an Incase black case and I thought this was the model. It was not - that one (sold by Brookstone) is called the Incase magazine jacket. I'm only posting this review to prevent people from making the same mistake as I did - not because the case itself was bad. The description on the item could have been better/clearer.

I really like having the two magnets on the back (even 3 wouldn't have been bad). The extra angle is the much needed missing angle for viewing while reclined. :-) Sometimes that angle doesn't hold as well, because of the way you have to fold the cover, but the majority (95%) of the time it stays put. This is a very nice cover and I recommend it. I have one for 2 of our iPads.
