Outstanding Seller, Decent Knife
The key selling point of this knife is the steel and the craftsmanship. I was a little worried about the Teflon washers, and as it turns out, with good reason, the first knife I received had an audible grinding noise when I opened it, and it only got worse with time. Luckily, the seller had a replacement in the mail within 12 hours of notifying them. The bearing in the replacement seems good, but it's about half as sharp as the first knife I recieved. Mcusta is a Seki manufacturer with a high reputation for quality in materials and finished product, which is supposed to justify the price tag. The Corian handles are great for feel and weight, but they have very unattractive brown staining running through them in veins. Both knives I recieved had this to varying degrees. On a "gentlemans" folder, skid marks is not a good look... If I could give separate ratings for the seller and the knife I would, because the buying experience was complete 5 star. The lack of consistency at multiple points of their manufacturing process means I probably won't be purchasing another Mcusta knife anytime soon.

Loved this knife (before I lost it!)
I really liked the unique look of this knife and it's Japanese pedigree. However, I found the action to be stiff despite me adjusting the pivot screw and lubricating it. I wasn't able to deploy the blade all the way with just my thumb in the flipper hole. If I didn't also use arm and wrist movement to add torque then the blade would only deploy about 3/4 the way out. This made it difficult to deploy in close settings (like a car) and it creates an uneasy feeling having a very sharp blade partly open and not in locked position. For this much money I expect a knife to feel like it flies open almost effortlessly, like my Benchmade, CRKT, Civivi, Onteria Knifeworks, etc do, most of which are much cheaper.Having said that, I still loved the knife for the way it looked, so it got the most pocket time out of my collection. Before. I. Freakin'. LOST IT on a trip several months ago, which is still very painful to think about.I'm actually thinking about buying a replacement but I might go for the thumb stud this time, in hopes that it's easier to open.
