This is a great read on the early church
This is a great read on the early church! The pottery artifacts that were found and documented here are second only to the Shroud of Turin in terms of physical evidence from the time of Jesus. While in Israel, we saw the symbol on the front of the book being sold as jewelry. This book particularly shows that the baptism ritual of the first church involved the "Oil of the Spirit" being applied to early Christians through the laying on of hands. This is probably the most overlooked aspect of early Christianity although it is called out throughout the New Testament:Acts 19 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)Twelve Disciples of John the Baptist19 While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions and came to Ephesus. He found some disciples 2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”“No,” they told him, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”3 “Then what baptism were you baptized with?” he asked them.“With John’s baptism,” they replied.4 Paul said, “John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people that they should believe in the One who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began to speak in other languages and to prophesy.

So you profess to be a Christian...
But the real question is do you really understand the ROOTS of your faith? This is a must read book to give you that information. It's a very small book with an incredible, power packed dose of reality. Suspend your all prejudices, judgements and doubts long enough to discover who you are as a true Christian.

Fantastic
I highly recommend this book & if enough people read it maybe we can lift our voices to have the rest of the artifacts & the site of the 1st century church of Jerusalem made available to the world instead of being suppressed as it is now.

A slim volume which is at once apocryphal tale and tantalizing data. The author would do well to lose the frame he has inserted and deal with just the archeological data.
