This is basically just a bandage made a tiny bit thicker. If you have a belly then it's going to roll up. In my opinion it's not worth it.

I worked in a career that was very physically and mentally demanding and was injured more times than I can count. After having multiple chest surgeries in under 2 years I was tired of trying to wrap those huge elastic bandages that were put on at the hospital by Nurses. At home it was just me. So I found these and several other brands on Amazon, the first binder I bought literally came apart unraveling in mere days. But then I read the information on these and thought why not? They are listed as rib brace for fracture ribs which I’ve had before so I figured it would work on the chest just as easy. I got the first one I ordered quickly and tried it immediately. I ordered another one on my next order! It was comfortable, it did not fall apart, I bought it a size larger due to swelling in my pectoral muscles and could start it on right side, rap it all the way around and adjust the tightness easily and would go across my chest again and I pushed the Velcro down on my left side. So I had two layers across the chest and one all the way around. It did not slide down like latex bandages, it didn’t get tighter or looser unless I adjusted it, it was wide enough to hold chest bandages in place and I hardly even noticed it was on. I was very happy with quality, comfort and ordered the extra so I could wash them and let one dry while using the other. I’ve had them for over a year and they are still in great shape and Velcro still sticks fine any were I attach it. I also order the same brand abdominal binder because they were wider for my back which I have Degenerative Disc Disease and my vertebrae are crushing my bones, I’ve lost 2 inches in height and I have horrible back pain. The chest binder actually worked on my lower back too but I wanted something a little wider due to the vertebrae were hurting in a larger area. I actually bought one two big the first time but reordered a size less and they are same quality. Needless to say but I found this brand of brace that works great, easy to use and I am going to buy a few more so I have them if I ever need more. You won’t be able to find a better brace for the money. These well exceeded my expectations and I am a customer for life. I want to buy extra because it seems every time I find something that works, I can’t find again when needed. Some of my surgeries were difficult due to the chest tubes and drains so I would like to have a few more so I have enough to change out while washing one that may have been soiled while changing bandages underneath daily. My 72 year old mother broke two ribs last week and this brace is an essential part of her recovery. She received it three days ago and has not yet taken it off, it helps that much. Before this she was using her hand and various pillows to try to brace her side. Now she is able to move much more freely. In her words: "I wouldn't be able to move without it!" She has even slept in it without any issues. The best part is that the brace hasn't moved. She put it on and hasn't had to adjust it since; no sliding down or riding up. She is also able to do her breathing exercises as part of her rehabilitation while wearing this; the stretchy material actually supports her ribs from the outside as the lungs push outward. Hands down a must have for broken ribs.
