Kept me guessing to the end
The first Robert Bailey book I've read and certainly not the last. Totally unexpected set of circumstances and a good tale.

Excellent Thriller
A great read. Really like the main characters. Ordered next book. From start to finish this book never fails to keep you interested and trying to solve the outcome. I never totally did. A few parts to the story I had an inkling what might happen but largely loved the pace. You will never be bored with Josephus Haynes.

Interesting enough whodunnit/legel drama, but disjointed and unbelievable towards the end.
I was taken with the main crux of the story. A decent whodunnit with an eye-catching take on abortion in southern America. But the double twist at the end served no purpose at all and took away from the story and the second main protagonist. The flashbacks which served as backstory for the main character was too disjointed and thrown in at points. Turns out the main character has appeared in other books but you wouldn't know that as this is titled as book 1 of a series. Lastly, the dialogue for the too short trial wasn't very believable. I'm sounding like I'm being harsh on this, but as I said, the main story was compelling for the most part.

Fast paced legal thriller
Robert Bailey is fast becoming one of my favourite authors I always fly through his book. One of my favourite things about his book are the way he manages to combine a legal and crime thriller into a heady combination that make his books addictive. This follows on from the series of Tom Mc Murtie, and whilst you dont need to have read that series it does give context to this. Bo was a friend of Toms and this is about Bo coming back as a lawyer in his home town. He takes on the explosive, nail biting case of Attorney General Helen, who is on trial for the murder of her ex husband, Butch. This is the first book in a new series and made for a thrilling read, there were a couple of heart stopping twists that I never seen coming until they slapped me in the face! I enjoyed this book so much I’m moving straight on to the second book in the series. This is another tight, fast paced, exciting legal thriller from Robert Bailey.

Fabulous Reading
This book was like going down a country lane and finding hidden treasures. It got better and better as the story evolved. Bo’s character is strong and likeable. I look forward to reading about more of his cases.

Standard stuff but a good read
It is very hard to write an original legal thriller and this is nowhere near original. It reads like a series pilot as the hero sorts his life out from a bad place and builds a team around him. The actual courtroom climactic scene is so short it is almost perfunctory. The plot twists are predictable ( as is the whole plot ) and in the end it gets silly. But it is so obviously a series set up you can forgive it. criticisms apart, it is well written , builds nicely and keeps you reading. It passed my washing up test ( i.e. it doesn't get done until I am nagged). As the start of a series I recommend it but I look for more imagination in the next.

Bravo ! Another great read by Robert Bailey
Exciting and full of twists and unexpected turns with a phenomenal cast of characters. We were able to briefly meet Bo in the Jason Rich series. You won’t be disappointed.
