I had to contact tech support to properly adopt the switch because my configuration is tricky with a lot of VLANs and net segmentation. It needs DHCP on the VLAN to properly adopt; afterwards, you can assign a static address and disable DHCP. After an hour of tech support and a firmware update out of the box, it has been dead reliable and easy to manage.
