Works like it says
Used it twice. Works like advertised. I believe you will have to exercise some caution as the instructions warn not to drop. I see how it could break if you did but if you are careful with it, you shouldn't have any problems. The valve positions work like advertised and it does mix the anti-salt solution which is worth it's weight in gold for those of you who do the salt water thing. So far, so good. I'm pleased I bought it.

Terrible product!
I purchased one of these about a year ago. Several weeks before I ordered this unit, the plastic cup on the year old unit burst. Made a real mess. I use the mixer only in the winter to wash the road salt off of my car, so it doesn't get constant use. After the cup burst, I decided to give another unit a try, thinking that perhaps the cup had a unique flaw. My plan was to use the cup on my old unit which had been working fine, and keep the new unit as a backup. In the meantime, I purchased a water pressure gauge and a high quality pressure reducer. I wanted to make sure something hadn't changed with the water pressure at the house. I tested the pressure and it read 65 psi. So I installed the pressure reducer on the spigot in the garage that I use when washing my car. Checked the pressure again and it read 50 psi.I hooked up the old unit with the new cup, and when I turned the water on, the unit burst around the threads that hold the cup on. I had NOT mis-threaded it. The cup attached as it always had. Another mess. I then got the new unit, screwed on the cup, and when I turned the water on, it also burst - this time not only around the threads but on the input stem. In fact, it blew the input stem off the rest of the unit. Yet another mess. This is all at 50 psi.I find it ridiculous that these units cannot be made stronger. Something is clearly wrong some of them. I will never buy another one, unless they are made to much higher specs.Included with this review are photos of the two units after they burst.

You will need one of these mixer units to apply ...
You will need one of these mixer units to apply Salt Away. The plastic is tough and my previous unit finally cracked and leaked the solution after 5 years of use.

One of two of these didn't work well
I bought one of these and it worked great so I wanted another for another hose. The second one failed miserably when on Salt-Away mode. It leaked very badly; was basically useless. Look at the picture of the two receptacles. The one on the right is the one that leaked. Reason: Compare the O-rings closely. Look at the other picture and you can see that the O-ring has a split in it. I returned it. I hope this is the only case where their quality control failed badly.

Poor design ruptures
Horrible product for the money. I have had a couple of these and treat them like faberge eggs since the reviews mention how fragile they are. Even so, just the water pressure always bursts the housing making it useless. Never dropped, just fractures on its own. If it were $10 that would be one thing, but for the price, it's inexcusable.
