I am replacing a qf120 breaker. what is the difference between the 120 and the 120an?

the QF120AN breakers are for use in Siemens type PN/SN Plug On Neutral load centers only. They are not designed for use in other Siemens load centers. The QF120A is the standard non-plug on neutral design version of this same breaker, and these are typically used in the older non Plug on Neutral load centers such as the Siemens PL/ES series or the Ultimate Load centers.
