Excellent and affordable bag pack and ruck
Excellent and good looking medium bag. Good quality and terrific storage organization, particularly in the front pocket. The laptop compartment fits 20# ruck plate from yes4all perfectly, so it’s an affordable alternative to rucks, but it’s definitely not as sturdy as those are in my experience. The zippers are YKK so should last but don’t feel as smooth as some other YKK zippers, for example on my north face bag. So a little room for improvement there, but still a good buy. Recommended.

5.11 Has Surpassed The North Face in Backpacks
Simply put, The North Face has been famous for making well-made rugged and versatile backpacks for all types of activities BUT unfortunately it seems they've let it go to their head and stopped innovating while also increasing prices. 5.11 on the other hand has not only equalled TNF in workmanship but the all-around selection, practical usefulness and affordability make their backpacks #1 in the game. The Rush 12 2.0 is the perfect size for a backpack that needs to be more than just a daypack but less than a camping/trekking pack.

Dependable
I bought this and immediately took it on a multi day adventure deep into the Bankhead National Forest. Discovered that the plastic piece inside the back that's supposed to keep it rigid or something was digging into my back uncomfortably, and hated it at first. Then I managed to slide that out and the pack became viable. I crossed streams where it got wet, pushed through dank and muddy caves, gave the bag a repeat beating for days in the wilderness. It suffered no damage for all the abuse, the zippers held with repeated use, various weights and muddy and wet items went in and out of it with zero issue, and I now fully trust this bag. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a hip belt attachment, but that's on me because spending 8+ hours hiking a day I maybe should have had a bigger model that boasts that. But I wanted this smaller model based on the size of my gear load. Let's just say I'm comfortable for about 4 to 6 hours at a time on the move and it is a great pack I'd recommend to anyone.

Better than I expected
I knew this was going to be a good hardy bag based off other reviews and the look but man it's the best bag I've ever owned. Coming from a marine veteran. I wanted a good edc bag that was not too big and would last years and I'm more than satisfied. It's the perfect size for me and I was pretty happy by the durability and feel of it. Definitely a great value for the money. Not heavy for me and the straps feel secure and beefy. Good pocket organization with the interior compartments being just as good quality as the outside. I like that the chest strap is detachable as I don't feel the need for it. It feels good even when loaded up. Definitely would buy a larger bug out bag from this company in the future I believe and I'm the kind of guy that has to spend hours comparing and researching quality stuff before I buy. Glad I got this.

Very durable
I'm used to all my other small, light, dayhike backpacks, so underestimated just how tough this would be! I got this for loaded day-hikes/rucks with the kids since they don't like gnarly climbs as much as I do, I wanted to make their easier stuff more of a workout for me. This is a tough bag and should handle a good amount of weight! The laptop pocket is reinforced, padded, and just barely/snugly fits my 30lb. plate (Signature Fitness if you want to look up the dimensions). The main compartment can easily fit larger rectangular plates, or extra weight if you want (25lb round plate shown int he pic, with some foam padding around the edges).Others have mentioned this, and I noticed too. The construction is solid and added weights have no effect on straps, no stretching at stitching or seams. I feel confident that it will handle 30 - 50lbs loads just fine, unless maybe I start doing jumping jacks or burpees. Really solid construction. Very comfy when loaded, straps adjust easily. Other pockets are great, lots of organization. Looking forward to pouring tons of sweat into this.

Good but Not Perfect
Excellent bag, but not quite perfect for me. First, v the good: it's high quality and made very well. No complaints about the construction, it's going to stand up to most use. The admin area is okay, not quite enough pockets for me, but I like a lot of space for the admin area. CCW compartment is pretty good and will hold most micro compact 9s with a spare mag easily. I added a Maxpedition holster/mag Velcro combo to that area and it fit perfectly so no bouncing around. Good option to have in case. The straps are padded and attached to each other so I like that. I do miss dearly, the lack of side handles. This is a big feature for me that I knew the bag was missing, but figured I would just live without. This is kind of my main gripe since I really miss having them. Everything else is pretty good, and if you get this on a sale for under $100 it's worth it. I do recommend you ship around and compare though. One other feature which is something I knew as well going in. The outside MOLLE instantly makes the bag look 'tactical' so no question about it, it has that look which you may or may not want.

Second to none
I been using this everyday for over a year and it is still in perfect condition. The concealed carry pocket hides a Glock 17 with a holster. I carry an ipad in it as well as a ifak, leatherman multi tool as well as glasses and other things. It’s well worth the money
