Somewhat Solid 50-port smart switch
This review is for the SG200-50.It would have been plug-and-play except that I wanted to upgrade the firmware to the latest version prior to installing in the office's network. First I had to load the bootloader via tFTP, not the common HTTP method. After I figured out how to tFTP, I installed the bootloader, rebooted, and and I then tried to install the latest firmware. No go. I had to upgrade to the firmware between the current (older) version and the latest version FIRST before I could upgrade to the latest version. Many reboots later, it was running the latest firmware.Having said above, everything else was smooth sailing. It was plug and play. I configured the static IP and set up a LAG (Link Aggregation) for the NAS (Network Attached Storage). The web browser-based GUI / interface was very responsive, comprehensive, and easy to use. One nuance was the need to specifically SAVE the settings despite having already pressed "Apply".The switch has been working flawlessly in the server closet so far. (See addendum below)Despite the above caveats, I would buy again and recommend this unit. The current GUI for the switch sure beats Cisco's old command line interface configuration.***** Addendum 7/24/2015: *****Sorry. Had to drop it to 4 stars. The unit crashed today by freezing all network traffic. It required a reboot of the switch before everything returned to normal.

Great switch for the price!
I can't believe some of the other reviews on here about this switch. If you're a home user you should have no use for this device as it would be an overkill. I want to touch on some of the other comments.1 - Yes only half of the ports support POE. Don't assume that they are all POE because it doesn't state anywhere that they are. If you look at the picture you can clearly see that the POE ports have the amber colored LED and are within the box that is labeled POE. Ratings for a product should not be based on your oversight of important facts.2 - The switch is very quiet, well maybe not if you're putting it next to your child's crib. This is a rack mountable switch designed to support an entire small office. Anyone who owns a rack mount server will agree that the 8+ fans in their server will drown this out. A typical server runs about 70-80 dB while this switch is rated at 40.2 dB, which in turn means that a typical rack mount server is anywhere from 8-16x louder. The powerful features, Cisco quality, and great price make this switch an absolute awesome device. Although not in the technical specs, this device does support LAG with LACP, 9k jumbo frames, auto voice VLAN, RADIUS, and auto MDI/MDI-X crossover along with much more.

Seems to work just fine!
Lots of ports. Plug-and-play. It is not managed!

Awesome Switch
This is a great switch. I've been running it for a few months now, and it works perfectly. I have no complaints. It's quiet, it performs well, and it's easy to configure. What's not to like?Originally I purchased the "Netgear ProSafe 48-Port Gigabit Smart Switch (GS748TNA)". It died approximately 3 minutes after powering it on and there were a number of things I didn't like about it that I discovered within those 3 minutes. (I reviewed that one on Amazon as well if you would like to search for it.)This was the replacement switch I purchased.

Perfect Solution For My Home Setup!
This switch is all I’ve been looking for for the past year. I had a dlink before and it blew out after 3 months. Picked up this Cisco and it’s been working perfect for the last couple months. No issues at all. Also a great plus are the fans aren’t that loud compared to my old dell!!

Tried and true. A goto for the budget conscious. (Only can manage it with the WEB GUI though)
Best price for an entry level fully managed switch. It was a little tricky to get the hang of the web gui. I wish we could use the telnet or ssh connections on this switch but, for the price, I will manage it with Chrome instead. I am starting to like it more than the equivalent Netgear 48 port switch we have elsewhere.

It has all the functions a layer 2 switch provides like QOS for voice.
I bought this whe it was on sale for $350 and it is a great switch. This switch is not a layer 2 but it has everythig a layer 2 switch does. It has a very easy to understand web interface and great functions related to QOS for VoIP.

Not Great, but not bad either
It is slow to load the web config pages and quite often hangs in mid-page requiring a browser refresh. The 24 port version does the same thing. The 2 fans are loud and distracting. I have it installed near my workstation and it is annoying. If you install it in a rack in a CO I guess it would be OK.I had to revise this review because a percieved problem was actually my fault for improperly configuring the unit.It seems to work fine now, but the price/performance is a little high.
