ActessoElasticated Thumb Support Brace - Ideal for Thumb Pain Relief from Sprains, Tendonitis or Fractures

I found this very helpful in getting back a bit more flexibility in my wrist and fingers, moving from the fuller splint in the first weeks of injury. So now into the third month, I still need a lot of support to minimise pain every time it moves too far and hitting the wrist bone. With some function returning but overuse leads to constant inflammation and reduction of activity is the only way to get pan relief or ibuprofen. Particularly find the wider wrist support very helpful as I have a radial bone fracture, and the thumb bone has eroded the scaphoid area. It enables me to get a more balance use of both hands, though reduced weight bearing on the left hand. It is very comfortable and snug fit, I was given one on the NHS which was too tight, even though it said it was a medium. Active back small is perfect for me as I have very skinny wrist. They also do not make you too hot, thus less sweat means less smells, unlike some of the neoprene options.

It came in a cardboard envelope, I thought it would have been thicker, never having seen one of these before, HOWEVER it does the job of making the thumb joint feel more comfortable. I don't need the metal splint so have not used it. Actesso could IMPROVE the item by tying off the very scratchy nylon threads on the outer side instead of the inside of the garment. Or use a natural strong cotton thread. Just one of the threads was irritating my wrist but my husband cut off all the protruding threads so it is now quite comfortable. I would recommend this item because it is very comfy and my thumb joint feels far better whilst wearing it.

I would reccomend this product for everybody for the general quality and a lot of adjustements. On my own, the size that i selected (small) was too small for my hand but the sistem of closing works egually. The material is very elastic and adaptable, a bit ruvid, but very strong and hand washable in a few minutes.This item certainly helps and supports my right tumb and results a valid medical support that really works. It' a pity for the size a bit small for me. Next time i will select, if necessary, a medium size for my right wrist of 17cm. No errors admitted for healt care! Excuse me for my bad english (i bought this item from Italy). At last five excellent stairs!

Light and very supporting easy to put on

Item is lightweight, I like its quite breathable compared to other style with full coverage, Velcro stays well, the metal pen helps a lot to stop hand from movement, I had injury on my thumb from overusing, and had to complete rest for over 8 weeks, had to say this band helps a lot, my only issue the thumb section if you are having chunky fingers it’s not as big, so go size up better as you can always tighten with the Velcro

I get severe pain in my left thumb joint to the point where moving or even touching my thumb is problematic. Because of the metal rod in the thumb, it stops my thumb from moving around too much and anything that touches my hand touched the metal rod first. I use two, wash one wear one (put them in the pockets of other clothes) and I used my first two to death! They lasted me ages. The only problem is that after a time, the strap that goes around the thumb starts to fray. That's the part that went on my last two. But of all the supports I've tried, the have worked the best for me. As long as amazon sells these, I will buy them.

This can be easily fitted to the hand. I previously tried a support that was like an elasticated glove (without the fingers) and that was painful to put on and take off. This is simple to put on, and can be adjusted to suit the size of hand.In use, it deters me from doing movements that would strain my thumb, and does seem to reduce the pain while it is on. Will it help long-term to eliminate the pain (from a strain)? I suspect that with the application of Volterol, and using this the pain will eventually go - but only time will tell.

I've been suffering with pain in the base of my thumb which can strike quite randomly. I had a similar experience with the other hand a few years back and wore a support that, after a few weeks, cured the problem. That support was a not very attractive flesh colour, went halfway up my arm and greatly restricted the use of my hand. 'On the other hand' this item is small lightweight and very comfortable. I forget that I am wearing it as it doesn't affect the use of my other digits or the use of my thumb. After a week of use I can already feel an improvement and have less pain in the thumb joint. The Spica is compact and unobtrusive and black is so much more practical than flesh colour. One tiny problem is that the metal splint has a tendency to work it's way slightly out of it's pocket and is visible by it's white colour. Maybe this could be black so that it doesn't notice so much.

My husband sprained his thumb and didn't want to go to the hospital. He's worn this for 2 weeks and the sprain is almost healed completely. I highly recommend!Yes, I recommend this product 👍

FANTASTICO! Ne ho uno ma color carne e si sporca molto facilmente. Volevo a tutti i costi come quello color carne ma nero e non riuscivo a trovarlo. Provati altri prima di imbattermi in questo. Addirittura ne ho comprato uno in Ortopedia ma purtroppo come tutti, anche quello del negozio era in neoprene! Questo è freschissimo e non ti accorgi di averlo addosso. Grande acquisto! E grazie alla Ricerca durata giorni....

Souffrant d'arthrose du pouce et faisant de la moto, je cherchais depuis un certain temps une attelle assez souple pour ne pas gêner les mouvements de la main tout en étant assez rigide pour éviter d'avoir mal. Je pense l'avoir trouvée ! Elle présente l'avantage de ne pas avoir de fils qui finissent toujours par se desserrer, des velcros solides et un maintien qui supporte aussi le poignet tout en étant assez fine pour passer sous le gant. Après avoir essayé la droite je vais donc acheter la gauche.

Ich habe Arthrose im Daumensattelgelenk. Mein Orthopäde hat mir zwei verschiedene Schienen verschrieben, mit denen ich nicht zurecht kam. Man darf mit diesem Krankheitsbild keine schmerzfreiheit erwarten, aber eine deutliche Erleichterung ist zu erzielen, wenn man die richtige Bandage/Schiene hat. Wider erwarten habe ich hier genau das Richtige für mich gefunden. Die Actesso Daumenschiene hält den Daumen in der richtigen Position, um eine möglichst schmerzfreie Haltung des Daumens zu erreichen. Trotzdem ist sie flexibel genug, um nicht einzuengen. Im Gegesatz zu den starren Schienen, wird hier nichts eingeklemmt. Ich weiß nicht , wie die Hersteller es gemacht haben, aber man schwitzt kaum unter dem Material. Während ich den Stoffbezug meiner starren Schiene schon ohne sommerliche Temperaturen innerhalb einer Stunde nassgeschwitzt hatte, -was sehr unangenehm ist und dazu führt das die Haut aufweichte, dass ich schon fürchtete, es würde sich ein Hautpilz entwickeln- konnte ich in den letzten Wochen bei den horrenden Temperaturen die Actesso Schiene über mehrehre Stunden tragen, ohne darunter nassgeschwitzt zu sein. Ich habe mir ein zweites Paar bestellt, damit ich wechseln kann, wenn sie bei der Hausarbeit nass werden. Was sie übrigends problemlos vertragen. Die Schienen lassen sich leicht reinigen und sind schnell wieder trocken. Es ist sehr erfreulich, aber auch verwunderlich, dass man ein so hochwerties Produkt, für so kleines Geld bekommt. Der Preis ist nicht viel höher, als die Zuzahlung der verordneten Schienen. Klare Kaufempfehlung.
