Good Headmaster mold with great retro packaging.
Great late G1/early G2 remake of Headmaster series. I even enjoyed the vintage packaging, as it brought a feeling of nostalgia from my youth. I'd love to see Hasbro and Takara do more vintage packaging tbh.

Great reissue figure
I've always liked this figure but missed out on the previous versions. I'm very happy to add him to my collection. Pretty easy transformation. Looks great in both modes.

Cool design and fun to transform, if a bit fiddly
Hardhead isn't one of the mainline Autobots but this incarnation of the classic Headmasters series is pretty cool anyway. In short, Hardhead is a futuristic battle tank a la the Scorpion from Halo that has cool segmented tracks (a solid piece with a wheel underneath to allow him to roll around in vehicle mode), several very large removable cannons and Duros, his transforming head. The latter is the key component of Headmaster series Transformers, and has both "robot" and "head" modes. What's really cool is in robot mode he can ride in Hardhead's cockpit. In terms of vehicle mode, Hardhead is definitely cool to look at, though he's a bit awkward to move around and his track units tend to wobble and get repositioned in odd ways. Transforming him is about on the average end for modern Transformers in terms of challenge, though the final result is a frankly excellent "chunky" robot mode that looks impressive and has surprising flexibility and posing potential. His build quality is decent by current standards, and the plastic color choices make for a really cool aesthetic, especially his dark blue/green bits. The retro packaging is actually a selling point as well, and I found myself unable to discard the box even though I'm more of a "play" collector. The artwork on it is impressive and seeing a classic stat card for Hardhead warmed the cockles of my cold, grumpy soul. While this isn't the best value for money in terms of Transformers toys, I'm very happy to have this one in my collection.

Smaller
It however was way smaller than the original

Headmaster Highbow
I think out of all the headmasters, that Highbrow is the most fun piece to play with and collect. The head transforms into his human mode and the body transforms into an attack vehicle, that the human can sit into. He is a very attractive piece to display in either mode!
