A Overall Great Projector Packed with Features
The Vankyo Leisure 530W is a fully capable projector that finally introduces intuitive touch controls on board! From the packaging, to the no finger print, textured white surface, The Leisure feels like a higher end projector without the high end price tag. The box features a clean and clutter free display with a matte finish. A convenient carrying handle was added for added portability and storage.Nestled inside the display box is Styrofoam padding to protect your investment. It has divided compartments, one holds the projector and the other compartment holds all the wires and accessories.Speaking of accessories, Vankyo has included several with the Leisure 530W! You get a black remote control, power cable, cleaning kit, HDMI cable, AV cable and a user manual. Also included in the box is Vankyo's portable projector screen at 100". They really thought of the consumer by creating a reusable bag to store the screen in.Now onto the most important part... The projector! The Leisure 530W packs a lot of technology in a little foot print. Measuring in at 9.5"x8.3"x3.5". It isn't the lightest projector we've reviewed weighing in at 3.96LBS. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, the added weight makes it feel sturdy and gives confidence that it'll hold up for a long time. The casing has a beautiful matte white and textured surface. I love electronics that feature this textured surface it feels premium to me and it doesn't attract fingerprints or scratches like on glossy black electronics. What sets Vankyo's Leisure 530W apart from others is it's intuitive touch responsive control panel on top. It's shaped like a perfect circle with beautiful chrome ring accent. The buttons are backlit in white and are very responsive! I was surprised how quickly they responded to a light touch! A audible beep can be heard with each press of the touch buttons. It was a breeze using it to navigate their menus and operating the projector. I almost preferred it over the remote. On the left side of the projector is a standard black focus ring with textured surface for easy focusing. A addition you don't see very often was included with the Leisure 530W: A removable dust filter. Simply pull it out and clean it. I think these are great as they cut down on dust and debris entering the optics and screen area. The right side features a plethora on inputs. They've included a USB port, Two HDMI ports, AV port, headphone jack and even a TF card reader! If that isn't enough inputs, they've also included a Screen Mirroring function connected via 2.5Ghz Wi-Fi or 5Ghz. It's great that they included 5Ghz Wi-Fi connection as most projectors only support 2.5Ghz. Setting up screen mirroring was a breeze on our Android device. The right side also has the heat sink exhaust area. The front of the projector features Vankyo's logo and a small circular receiver for the remote. The lens is protected by an included matte frosted lens cap that has a small tab for easy removal. The bottom has four generous rubber feet to pick the projector off the surface and allow airflow. They also make for a scratch free experience. Four threaded screws can be added for a ceiling mount. Vankyo has also included a thumbscrew leveler which I love because it makes surface projection on a table a breeze. To install a standard tripod screw mount, you have to remove the thumbscrew kickstand located on the very front lip of the projector. I didn't like this as I'm used to a dedicated screw mount for a tripod dead center of the projector. There also wasn't a tripod mount hole on the side of the projector for vertical mounting. It's not a big deal but a preference for me as I like the tripod mount to be dead center for even weight distribution. One thing I found interesting is the back of the projector. It's bare and very clean looking which I love. They have also included a receiver for the remote on the back so there's to for operating in the front or from behind, this is brilliant. The back also features the power port for the included power cord as well as a built in fuse.Performance:Pressing the power button on top wakes up the Leisure 530W. You are greeted with Vankyo's welcome screen before going to a blue input screen. Browsing inputs was a breeze. They are labeled well and the touch input controls made finding the right input quick. I usually find this is a problem with lower priced projectors but not for this one! There are just three simple menus: Picture, Sound and Options. I won't go too deep into this as it's very standard. However, there was a feature I found interesting at this price point. It's under Options-Keystone. There's a way to manually adjust the digital keystone as well as Auto! The auto works so well and immediately corrected my less than perfect surface that the projector was sitting on. This is a fantastic and welcomed feature and it's a time saver! 50+- Vertical and Horizontal correction as well as a 50% digital zoom feature.Let's move onto picture quality. This projector is one of the brightest projectors we've reviewed so far. I had no problem projecting movies onto the wall of my bedroom with the lights on. Lesser priced projectors wash out in the dimmest of lighting so this is great at this price point. The projector has a LED lamp that is stated as being 80% brighter than its predecessor. I cannot determine this as I haven't reviewed last year's model but I can say it's plenty bright. The images produced by the native 1920x1080 screen are colorful and vivid. Since it's 1920x1080 Native, there was very little distortion while blowing up the size of the screen. Contrast is 10,000:1 which I can see a difference from other projectors we currently own. There was some washing out in the whites when a black screen was on. This is common with LCD type projectors and not a deal breaker. I welcomed the brighter image and vivid colors. Playback was butter smooth as we browsed our Netflix with a 4k player attached. You can conceivably produce a 200" image with this projector thanks to the brighter LED but it won't be as bright as say 100". It's perfect for outdoor movie night due to its brightness and easy portability. Speaking of screen size, the 1.35:1 throw ratio gives you a huge 100" screen from just 9' 10.1 inches away. This is great as lower priced projectors are usually in the 1.4 and up range and require more room to create a bigger picture. The speakers on this were amazing in my opinion. I'm so used to just turning the on board speakers all the way to 100% but out of the box, The Vankyo Leisure 530W was set at 50% and was louder than my other projectors set at 100%. The sound was crisp clear and did have a little bass to it. They definitely don't replace a Sound bar or external speakers but I could watch an entire show on Netflix and understand what they were saying. The speakers are rated at 3W but sound much more powerful thanks to Vankyo's built in sound cavity. It makes sounds more robust and clearer.Verdict: it's 2021 and projectors are becoming more advanced with more features for less money. At the time of writing this review, the Vankyo Leisure 530W retails for 229.99 on Amazon. With all of the included features I would have expected it to cost close to $300! I would highly recommend this projector for anyone who wants versatility, a bright crisp image and the ease of use with the stylish touch surface controls!Pros:-Backlit Touch Surface Controls-Bright Vivid Image-Amazing Auto Keystone Correction-Decent on board speakers-Matte surface finish-Plenty of inputs-Portable Screen IncludedCons:-Fan is not loud by any means but can - be heard if sitting next to it.-Focus wheel seems loose as it rattles around when you carry the projector.-Whites seem to wash out but at this price point it's by no means a deal breaker.-I couldn't figure out where the standard tripod mounted to turns out you have to remove the built it thumbs crew for the bottom kickstand to install a standard tripod. I don't like it because it's on the very front edge and looks weird on a tripod. I would have preferred a separate tripod thread dead center on the bottom to install a tripod.

Very nice projector with high end features!!!
The Vankyo L530W is a beautifully designed projector with some high end features. This projector is a great choice!Distance:-I recommend placing the projector no more than 12 feet away from the wall. I was unable to get the projector to focus any further away. I had to turn the focus ring all of the way to one side to focus it. That’s The only reason I recommend staying around 12 ft. From this distance the picture remains clear and vibrant.Speakers-The speakers were fantastic and will provide plenty of sound to watch movies inside or outside with clarity.Picture-The picture itself was vibrant and crisp offering a great experience. There was a slight motion blur that was noticeable during fast moving scenes.Keystone-The keystone feature works great. Using the vertical, horizontal and rotation feature helped level out the picture when placing the projector at different angles.Screen Mirroring-The screen mirroring feature worked very easily. You will need to go to a website in the manual to connect to it. Once you’re connect this feature works great.Verdict-The L530W is a very nice projector. Depending on the features you want and what your preferred use is going to be, this projector is a good option. Since I was unable to focus the projector after approximately 12 ft, I wouldn’t purchase this product for a large home theater room. If you’re looking for a larger screen, I highly recommend the Vankyo V600.

Vankyo Leisure 530W is a crystal clear upgrade from Vankyo Leisure 420.
Vankyo Leisure 530W is a crystal clear upgrade from Vankyo Leisure 420.As a treat, we have decided to upgrade our older Vankyo Leisure 420, and we couldn’t be happier with this new Vankyo Leisure 530W.Back story: We’ve been using the Vankyo Leisure 420 for a couple years now, hung on a wall, projected onto an Elite Screens 92’’ pull down screen. It’s been great fun to have as a home theater and gaming system. We haven’t noticed any dimming, just dust that was in need of cleaning after a few years of use. The older 420 was slightly hard to get in focus in the corners where small text was displayed, for example, in modern videos games with small text in the corners, but in most game play and movies, we never noticed it. 95% of the screen was always clear. It did have slightly larger pixels than one would get on a normal tv screen, but from our chairs, it was rarely visible unless it was a very still scene, or with drastically different color blends or brightness, but it was never bothersome. I would still recommend that model to anyone looking for a great projector in the $100 or less category. We decided to upgrade to allow for the 420 unit to be used elsewhere, outdoors, or to travel with, and be able to leave the new updated Vankyo 530W installed in our home theater and game room.Unboxing: Amazon probably should have used some packing materials with the Amazon shipping box. At first I was worried, BUT thankfully, Vankyo has the projector packed in a thick styrofoam container inside its own product box. Thank you Vankyo! I was pleasantly surprised to see it packed well in the Vankyo box, and that all the accessories were packed and wrapped nicely, and the included 100’’ screen also added padding to the Vankyo box.The projector itself has a hip design, and the simplicity with slight detail is nice and looks good on my wall. It feels nice and substantially made.First impressions after getting it mounted with our existing wall bracket, I turned it on, and after a few turns of the focus, it showed an incredible crystal clear HD picture from my Xbox One! Compared to the 420, this 530W barely shows any pixels from close up, but certainly not from 10-12 feet away, projected onto a 92” 16:9 screen. Our 420 model was clear and bright, but during slow or non movement in videos or games, you could see the pixels. It never bothered us because it was so much fun, but now having this new 530W, we are amazed at the clarity and lack of visible pixels at 10-12’ away from the screen. To me, with the nice pull down screen, this Vankyo doesn’t look any different in picture quality than a normal LED tv screen, only it projects double the size of a affordable tv and is a fraction of the cost for the size difference. Nowhere will you get a 92” tv with this much clarify for just above $200.Games: we have a PS3, a Wii, and and Xbox One. We use the Xbox One the most. All three are very clear and vibrant with the 530W. With just plugging in and using the built in settings on the projector, the pictures are very clear, and the motion is clear enough that I don’t notice any lag or speed issues. The Xbox One has a guide to setting tv settings. I followed it and set the pictures settings accordingly and the colors, blackness, and overall look became pretty incredible. I often wonder if everyone goes through this step, which is also available in a lot of Dvd menus and the like, and I think it is very important to get the picture looking great in your particular room. Now the Xbox One is unbelievable to play with this new Vankyo 530W, clear and vibrant, with dark blacks and clear bright whites.Movies: with this 530W, movies are crystal clear, bright, and action and special effects look amazing. With the good fabric screen, this gives you the movie theater feel at home that a newer tv just can’t provide. Maybe it’s a little bit of nostalgia, but I like it more than a tv screen. Movie nights are incredible, and with this kind of clarity and brightness the new Vankyo 530W gives, we will probably be having more movie nights than before.Wireless phone mirroring : with an iPhone SE2020 - turn projector to correct input, and the OSD will tell you what to do, change your wifi on phone to Vankyo, enter password from projector screen, then hit screen mirroring on iPhone. Easy!USB connection: it’s works. You can access photos and movie files. But, I would rarely use this option. But it does work.Keystone: the digital keystone on this is pretty incredible, and in every direction. As is a digital tilt, and the digital screen percentage control if you need to dial it down a few percent to make it for just right for your projector distance.Extra thoughts: Vankyo included new screws that matched the hanging bracket screw holes on the unit which was a nice surprise. My previous projector did not come with its own mounting screws. The remotes battery compartment is a little tricky to open, and it takes two AAA batteries, but the buttons feel a little more substantial compared to the remote that came with the 420. Also, the power plug on the 530W is on the back of the unit, so if mounted near something else, you may want to consider the extra two inches needed for the power plug. Luckily my wall mount was easily adjustable for this situation. The 530W included an hdmi chord, rca cable connector, cleaning kit, and 100” screen.Fan: it’s slightly louder than the 420, but it’s a brighter unit too, so that is understood. That said, it’s still not loud. I have a nice surround sound setup, and once that is playing, the fan noise is really ignorable. I forget it’s on most of the time. The fan might add a bit of sound that could remind you of a movie projector. I don’t mind it, and hopefully it helps make the bulb last a long time. You’ll have so much fun you’ll forget it’s there too.Note: first time buyers, this unit has a digital zoom, but not a manual one. And it only zooms down, but not larger. The way I understand it, the larger the screen you want to project, the farther back you have to move the projector, but then you can digitally size it down to match a screen size or area if needed. I am projecting 92” 16:9 at around 10 feet. I also recommend Elite Screens. A nice pull down screen makes a pretty big difference in the picture.I included some pictures. I didn’t include many pictures of the screen footage as the iPhone isn’t capturing the brightness and clarity.Final impression and value: incredible clarity, brightness, colors, and ease of use. Has extra features that are nice. Easy and almost immediate setup, and all at a fraction of the cost of a tv at a similar size screen. Absolutely perfect for a home movie theater or game room. Better than the entry level units, so if you can spend the extra, I highly recommend the value you get for this Vankyo Leisure 530W.
