China. I use it for melting beeswax. It fits my needs well. I like the heft to the pots, since they are heavy enough to not tip over.

Q: does the smaller pot have a solid bottom? I want to use this to heat up mashed potatoes to keep them warm.

Yes - the smaller pot has a solid bottom and I think it would be great for mashed potatoes. I have bought 3 of these pots and I use them for soap making. All works out fine with the exception of yellow spots that looks like rust on the bottom pot. I do clean and dry them after every use and never leave any water sitting in the pot after use. This is very disappointing as I never experienced this with any of my other stainless steel pot. Tried every way to get the spots out - without any luck. A bummer!
