If it doesn't bother you to buy a package of ground coffee and then slowly use it over a long period of time, then you will probably not mind the major defect in these little packages. But if you insist on freshly ground coffee, DO NOT BUY THIS STUFF! Run, do not walk, to a true k-cup system.Unlike normal k-cups, these packets are NOT sealed. This means that once you break the in packaging on a box, these mesh-walled cups allow oxygen in to start degrading the coffee grounds. They don't taste bad initially, but our family cannot drink an entire box in one or two days.I also question how much better these packages are for the environment. Yes, they allow one to recover the grounds for composting, but that's just about as simple with a regular k-cup.I won't be buying these again. Neither should you if you like quality coffee. This may start out high quality, but every day a bit of that quality oxidizes.

This coffee is very good, it has a nice aroma and a good strong flavor.I also like the "minimalist" k-cup design, but have a couple complaints with it. Since the individual pods aren't sealed, you have to keep them in a sealed package to prevent spoilage. It would have been nice if the plastic bag they came in was re-sealable.Also, since the coffee doesn't just come out of a small hole in the bottom of the pod, the first cup you make with these will wash all the stray grounds out of your machine and into your cup. Be forewarned that you should wash the pod holder before using these.Overall I like the product, just be careful about the different pod shape.

When I opened the packaging for this coffee, at first I was concerned that they don't look like the normal Keurig K-Cups. They have a mesh bottom instead of the plastic cover all around. I tried them in my Keurig coffeemaker, and the cups work just fine, just as it says on the advertising.This is absolutely THE BEST cup of coffee I have had in a long time. Great flavor, but no bitterness. Usually with the Keurig, the coffee cup isn't always full, even at the highest setting. Sometimes, the K-Cups produce a less than full, too strong cup of coffee.Not this coffee! It is absolutely wonderful and the aroma is nice also while it's brewing. My husband came home from work shortly after I made a cup to try. He too, was really impressed with the aroma and taste. We will continue to purchase this with the "Subscribe and Save" feature Amazon offers. Wonderful coffee!

I was not expecting the way these K-cups were made. The plastic collar on top with the exposed coffee filled filter hanging below is ingenius and I can see where it saves on throwing extra plastic in the landfills. But, I have to agree with other reviewers that in order to keep each cup fresh, you will have to empty the bag of k-cups into a ziplock bag or a plastic container with a sealed, locking lid. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The coffee is excellant and very comparable to the other brands and it is cheaper if you use the subscribe and save.

Bought this because it was suggested to me via email from Amazon. So disappointed! I love bold, dark coffees (French Roast from Tully's, Green Mountain, etc), but this tastes like an ash tray.Gave it two stars because the more environmentally friendly design is clever. Otherwise, it would have been one star for sure.-----Update for March 2017: I have recently bought OneCup French Roast and found it to be excellent. Whatever was going on with the overroasting/burnt flavor seems to have been well-corrected. Updating the stars from two to four to reflect.

Here's a product that had the potential to be excellent but isn't. Since it's not a "K-Cup", they're not paying the licensing fees, so it should be cheaper. Yet it's about the same price as many brands of K-Cups. What makes it worse is that these aren't even "extra bold" portions, the ones with extra coffee in the cup, which again you can get for about the same price as these.On the positive side, there's less material here, so less waste generated. I've bought this brand of coffee in bean form for years, the "not a K-Cup" version does deliver the familiar tastes. A small cup of the same taste.

I usually drink this in the af'noon and find it perfect mild bold drink using 1/2 the amount of water required. the aroma is wonderful and the brew flavors expand as you mull the first few sip around in your mouth..the wife also finds it her 2nd choice as Nantucket grabs her attentions 1st. This is not a Kpod but has a mesh bottom..thus I found it tended to lose floavor if not sealed in plastic bag...just an heads up for new customers.

Of all the pods available out there, this is my favorite. I love all of the SF Bay dark coffee pods, but their French roast is the best of the best. Love that the pods and the packaging they come in are compostable.
