A real convenience; works with Apple HomeKit; some security/privacy questions
The unit I ordered from Amazon never got to me, due to a bizarre Amazon fulfillment error, so I reordered directly from the manufacturer.I am impressed by the Sensibo Air. Setup was smooth, and was completely guided by the app. I was able to configure the device to work on my customized network, which walls off Internet of Things (IOT) traffic. The Sensibo app recognized my air conditioner's somewhat elaborate remote control from a single press of the remote's on/off button, and the app can do everything that the remote can do.The Apple HomeKit integration does what I need it to do, allowing me to turn the air conditioner on and off, set the temperature, and select fan-only mode, whether I'm at home or away.Notes:• The Sensibo app will not operate without continuous Internet access. After initial setup, it should be possible to use basic features of a home control app without external Internet access. Controlling the Sensibo Air through Apple HomeKit is a work-around.• I haven't checked whether the Sensibo Air complains if its external Internet access is revoked. Hopefully the device doesn't "phone home" unnecessarily. (I prefer to let Apple HomeKit broker commands when I am away from home, because HomeKit's security policy is well established.) I will update my review when I've tried tightening the firewall rules for my Sensibo Air.• The privacy implications of Sensibo's built-in geofencing feature (which can turn the air conditioner on when you arrive at home, and off when you leave) are unclear. The Sensibo app needs access to Location Services during the initial setup of the Sensibo Air, but works fine without location access after that (provided that the built-in geofencing feature is turned off). I will update my review when I've tried to create arrive/leave automations for the Sensibo Air at the Apple HomeKit level. (Here again, I prefer to let Apple HomeKit handle my location data, because HomeKit's privacy policy is well established.)• There's a silly user interface mistake in the Sensibo app. During setup, when you link the Sensibo Air to HomeKit, the Sensibo app displays a HomeKit QR code, as well as a manual setup code. Unless you have another iPhone or iPad, you can't scan the QR code. The manual setup code cannot be selected and copied, so you'd have to write it down on a piece of paper, switch from the Sensibo app to the HomeKit app, and manually type the code.In closing, the security and privacy concerns I've raised are common to most home control devices, and they shouldn't deter you. Setup was easy, the Apple HomeKit integration works, and the Sensibo Air is a major convenience. I'm looking forward to using it this summer!

A Game-Changer for My Home Comfort
I recently purchased the Sensibo Air PRO, and all I can say is, "Why didn't I get this sooner?" This smart controller and air quality sensor have entirely transformed how I manage my home's climate and air quality. It's a game-changer!Installation was a breeze. I plugged in the Sensibo Air PRO, connected it to my Wi-Fi network, and downloaded the app. Within minutes, I had complete control over my air conditioner from my smartphone. No more fumbling for the remote or dealing with outdated thermostat settings. The fundamental standout feature for me is the air quality sensor. I've always been concerned about the air my family breathes indoors, especially during allergy season. The Sensibo Air PRO monitors the air quality in real time, providing me with valuable insights and alerts when it's time to improve ventilation or adjust the air purifier. I can also see historical data, helping me track changes in air quality over time. The app itself is intuitive and user-friendly. I can create schedules to ensure my home is at the perfect temperature when I arrive or wake up. We integrated it with our Amazon Alexa, making controlling my HVAC system with voice commands even more convenient. The energy-saving features are impressive. The Sensibo Air PRO helps optimize my air conditioner's performance, reducing energy consumption and saving me money on our electric bills. I appreciate the eco-friendly aspect of this device.Additionally, the Sensibo Air PRO has a geofencing feature that detects when I'm leaving or returning home, automatically adjusting the temperature to ensure comfort while minimizing energy waste. It's a small detail, but it makes a big difference in my daily life.I can't emphasize enough how much I love my Sensibo Air PRO. It has made managing my home's climate and air quality effortless and efficient. No more worrying about wasted energy or wondering if my indoor air is safe. If you're still on the fence, take my advice: don't wait any longer. Get the Sensibo Air PRO now, and you'll wonder why you didn't make this purchase sooner. It's an investment in your comfort, health, and peace of mind.

Easy Setup Great Design, But App-Dependent with Room for Improvement
The installation process was straightforward and easy. Having previously used the Mysa, I opted for the Sensibo primarily due to its more compact size and superior design. The Sensibo app is well-designed and user-friendly, enhancing the overall experience. However, there are a few drawbacks. The device needs to be powered, as there is no battery option available. Additionally, some features are locked behind a paywall and can only be accessed through the app, which is a bit disappointing. One of the significant limitations is that you cannot control the AC directly from the unit itself; all controls must be done via the app. This reliance on the app can be inconvenient at times, especially if your phone isn't nearby or if the app has connectivity issues. It would be much more user-friendly if there were basic controls available directly on the device.I own both the Sensibo Air and the Sensibo Air Pro, and I haven't found a compelling reason to justify spending the extra $20 on the Pro version. Both models perform similarly in my experience.Overall, the Sensibo is a good product with room for improvement. Its sleek design and easy setup are strong points, but the reliance on a power source and the paywalled features are areas that could be improved. Additionally, the inability to control the AC directly from the unit itself is a notable downside.
