Samurai Warriors 5 (Nintendo Switch)

Title should have been - Synchronized Puppet Throwing 5
Short version:Really wanted to love it. Poor Physics and NPC 'interactions' destroyed immersion for me.-- Good--- The story is great- graphics are good- Works well on switch (OLED in my case). It really does look great...but**--The BIG Bad--- Like Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 on the 3DS, you face hoards of bad guys and they have ZERO individuality. If you plow through 20 or more guys, they will all fly through the air like a team of synchronized swimmers made of carboard (literally shoulder to shoulder with the exact same movement). It is horrible and destroys any immersion for me as it is hilarious and gives the impression the devs slacked a bit here. Its hard to ignore as the majority of battles are exactly this.Tried playing for several hours in the hope that I could get over this issue, but no luck. Can not complain as I paid €22 VS the €70 price tag on the eshop, so thank you Amazon. If you think you might obsess over the same thing, watch some YouTube videos to get a taste. If you have to buy it, buy physical as you can at least sell if needed.

Good game
Great warriors game, gameplay is great. Would be better to have English voice acting as I don't understand Japanese

Not a good experience
Not a good experience on the Switch. Lots of stutters and poorly optimised. Get it on PS5 or Series X instead.

Awesome
Probably my favourite game in the warriors series so far! (I've played all of them)

My opinion on SW5 so far
A very solid return for the samurai warriors franchiseFirstly the artstyle of the game is absolutely beautiful the character models and the level design really are top notch the bright colour palate and the water paint look really makes SW5 one of if not the best looking warriors game to date. The gameplay is very fun and has plenty of variety and has quite a few different weapons to useThe story so far as I haven't completed yet is interesting in parts but nothing to write home about but you don't buy a warriors game for the main campaign stories. The game has Japanese voices with English subtitles only but the quality of the voice work is great and it suits the game as it's based on Japanese history and lore anywayAnd there's a smaller cast of characters compared to previous games but because it's a more focused cast of characters they feel more fleshed out and it's more enjoyable than having tons of cloned characters.Overall the game is a great soft reboot to the samurai warriors franchise.I think it missed a mark by not adding a conquest mode like in SW4 and not having a custom character creation system is disappointing but that's my personally opinion and I can see why koei didn't include them as it's a game based around nobunaga oda and mitsuhide akechi's stories so it's more focused. It's definitely worth buying if you like warriors games and are interested in Japanese ancient history but if hack and slash games and historical type stories are not your thing I'd pass on this game as you won't find it fun or interesting.
