ROCKYRetraction Waterproof 800G Insulated Outdoor Boot

Bought these for this years hunting season. After wearing many times, these are NOT waterproof. My feet were soaked just walking through wet grass. The bottom soles are so thin that you feel every little pebble you step on. Without a doubt worse boots I have ever owned. What a waste. Should have tried them out earlier, but hard to create fall hunting circumstances in the heat of summer. Beyond disappointing....

PROS- I have had theses boots for a couple of months now and have worn them in all kinds of conditions from warm desert hiking rocky terrain to very cold snow and ice. Theses boots are well insulated with great tread and are water proof with in reason. I like the ankle support and they are very comfortable to be in for long periods of time hiking over all kinds of terrain.CONS- theses boots have fairly cheep laces but have held up so far. The plastic lace hooks are kinda different to deal with because of the design, angle, and width of the opening. Some time they can be down right frustrating to get the lace to clip in.CONCLUSION- All things considered, I will be buying theses boots again and probably buy others made by this company. I think they are worth the purchase.

I don't usually leave reviews but felt the need on this one. Boot is very comfortable but is not waterproof at all. My left boot leaked and soaked my foot as if I wasn't even wearing a boot. Simple bathtub test as if I was in a creek and never even made it to outside before having to return. Better to find out now before I'm in the woods, creeks and snow. I've always enjoyed rocky boots but my last pair didn't last very long and then this pair leaked before I even wore them outside. Quality seems to be going downhill.

I ordered these boots for a 6 day hunting trip in Kaibab, Arizona, where I knew the weather was bound to be wet and rainy. Let me tell you, from the moment I put on these boots for the first time, these are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. There wasn't any stiffness or breaking them in required. I wore these boots every day on my hunting trip, starting my days at 4AM and going to bed around 9PM, some days leaving them on for the entire day. Not once did these boots bring me any discomfort, I hardly thought about them on my feet. I was right about the weather being bad too and my feet never got wet. I got my deer and hung out at camp for the last few days while the others went out and hunted, and I still preferred to wear these just for lounging around. These boots are high quality and will last me for many hunting seasons to come!

After wearing Rocky boots for the past 10 years it was time to order a new pair. Order this pair the first time and stitching came out in the right boot after wearing them a couple times. Sent them back and no issues with that. Figured it was just a fluke thing so I reordered the same boot. They arrived and started the break in process. After a few hours of wearing them noticed that the same stitching was coming out again. Really sad to say but will never order another pair of Rocky boots again. My old pair of Rocky's had hundreds and hundreds of miles, the new ones couldn't even make it a day.

I wear a 7.5 boot so the larger fit is expected. This boot only comes in a size 8 and up, I will just wear thicker socks. After testing this boot in 40 degree weather for over an hour my feet were TOASTY warm. I know that these are a Cold weather boot, my feet get really cold due to an accident and I need the extra warmth. These will handle any weather and at 0 degrees these will work great. These are Very well made and the reviews are very good for this brand and this boot. I would recommend this brand, and this boot to anyone that needs a Higher quality boot and when on sale they cost me MUCH Less than other cheaper boots. I will from now on purchase Rocky shoes, boots, etc. and I know I will always get the best quality that I can afford, (And that I need)!Do yourself a favor and spend the money and you will understand what a Great brand this is.

This is my second pair of Rocky boots. The first "lasted" about 6 years (though they ripped in the heel after a year and a half). This new pair fit a little bit bigger than my last (also a size 12), which I was a little disappointed with. I decided to keep them, hoping once they broke in a bit, the size wouldn't be a problem (it hasn't). This morning, however, I went out and was walking in some very wet grass. My socks were wet and squishy after 2 minutes. So much for being waterproof.

Excellent pair of boots they run true to size. speed laces are rounded plastic so your laces won't get tore up and fray. wore them hunting in northeast PA 30- degrees in the snow, walked through 5'' deep creeks, mud, walked up steep mountains, 6 hours of continuous walking feet never felt fatigued. they took everything I threw at them. feet stayed dry and warm. I used thermal socks with them and feet started sweating a little (probably could have gotten away with normal knee socks) Best pair of boots I've ever owned. if you're on the fence get them and try them you won't be disappointed.

I was very happy to recieve my boots yesterday . They fit a little small but I ordered a little big so all good . Very comfortable and overall was quite impressed, . Today I had a chance to put a few miles on them and I was not happy that in light , dry snow the boot started to leak. I wasn`t even in water just dry snow. I bought this boot because I was looking for a ``waterproof `` boot . as it was advertised . So now begins the tedious return journey . I am not impressed at all .

Bought these for my husband to hunt with and he says they are amazing- walked in mud and water and barely got socks wet, from over top of boot! And they dried out quickly. Friend says he has had his for 20 years and still work well.

These boots are "not" water proof. Water Proof means water will not penetrate to the inside. This is not the case with these boots and it doesn't take much water to get soaked. The only good part about these boots is the insole, they dry out.

Well made, comfortable and at a reasonable price. Owned many Rocky products and they generally work as advertised so I am rarely weary of making a purchase from Rocky.

Boots fit great, fairly light and reasonably warm but...the quick lace rivets dug in for the first week so break in is a must. After a week of walking it wasn’t an issue but was bad enough at the start that it cut my skin in several places. Thick long socks were a must
