Less fragile than some halogen heaters.
This is about the 5th halogen heater Iv had. The others seemed to be very very fragile with the slightest knock damaging the / one of the elements. This one is flat based & doesn’t bother with the turning business so that it stands more securely on the floor. It reminds me of the old electric bar fires. However, whilst having a warm glow, it doesn’t blind you with orange light as some do, which is good especially if it’s facing you in the same direction as the tv!Overall this seems more robust and good value for money. I’m happy with it.

Better value than gas !
A bit bigger than expected. I have 3 halogen heaters and now 4 !!I'm shocked how much gas has gone up so I can turn the thermostat down on the central heating and use these to supplement. 1 bar heats the room quickly and is a cheaper and handy extra.

Don't bother
Had high hopes for this heater which has an attractive, user-friendly design.however, with modest use, the thing lasted 1 month in this household. One quartz bar spluttered & failed after 2 weeks, and the second element died at just under a month. Replacement heating elements (bars) cost more than the total cost of the unit. So we binned it - should have returned it under "warranty", but frankly we were so p'eed off with the whole debacle ......Guess this is how Jeff Bezos makes his billions.Daewoo should be ashamed.Obviously not recommended - avoid avoid avoid. .

Happy so far
Having lost my Halogen heaters to my son last week as his heating broke down, and not being able to purchase the same heaters as they are no longer available, I decided to try this one.Firstly I have to say the price of Halogen heaters has increased considerably since I last bought some two years ago , so I looked at the reviews of so many before deciding on this make. It's a great design, feels solid and the heat from the two bars is amazing, in fact so good I only need one bar to heat a medium sized room. With the price of gas so high at the moment Halogen heaters are going to be a godsend. It doesn't swivel, but that's a plus for me, it makes it more stable, and with two crazy dogs running around stability is important.I like that the bars are slower to heat up and the light doesn't blind you like some Halogen heaters do.My only gripe is that it's a dial to turn it on and change settings rather than a push button, but that doesn't make it any less easy to use.Time will tell if it lasts as long as my previous ones ( two years and still going strong )

OK at Close Quarters
In the days of rising electricity prices I was looking for something that gave out heat without bankrupting me at my next bill. You can set this on one bar at 450W which on my extortionate tariff is about 13p an hour but the drawback is it gives off very localised heat so I use it when I’m working from home at my desk, the effect is ok if the room is just cool but if it’s really cold you’re going to need to wear the heater under your coat on one bar. On two bars it’s 900W which for me is about 26p an hour, it’ll be lower for most because I’m a private tenant on an absurd PAYG rate which my landlord isn’t keen on my changing to a credit meter. On two bars you can feel the heat at close quarters and it does get quite warm after a while, it’s not going to warm your room up but a corner of it will get more comfy for you to sit around in your pants, or work in your pants whichever your day at home brings. Is it recommended, well it depends what you want it for, heating a room forget it, heating the corner of the room where you work or relax, maybe if you can safely get it within a few feet of you. Within a foot or two on two bars it’s very hot but move to say four or five feet away and it’s just a modest ambient heat that’ll have you looking for a sweater perhaps.

Brilliant!
Bought for a bbq on a cloudy day and wow. So powerful and brilliant for the money. Only one bar is really warm so the three is incredible. Really pleased and would recommend.

Takes the chill off.
Very nice little heater, the bulbs are more subtle than previous ones but still give out the same heat. This heater is good value for money and I will get another one to keep as a spare.

Good little heater
Arrived really quickly, packaged well. Not really had much use for it with the weather been so nice but have made sure it works & although there are only 2 bars the heat from it is brilliant.
