I was under the impression a touch on any edge of the entire board would control it. You still have to get your hand in the right spot, which may be difficult for some seniors to remember exactly. On the back there are 3 groove positions to route the cord thru -- the cord will not stay in these grooves on its own and came with it taped in one position. If you need to move that, you will have to tape it down again. But my biggest con is that it contains a light bulb which will last 4-5 years, and ok there seems to be absolutely no way to replace that bulb. If that is the case, then I just paid 80 bucks for something that will be trash when the light bulb burns out? This may get returned.Update: not returning it since the person I gave it to likes it. But I stand by my 3 star review on the irreplaceable light bulb. It is also not easy to see the two buttons the control the brightness on this either. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bought in 2015. She cannot see without her glasses and this night light is perfect for keeping her glasses in a spot where she can find and see them because they are illuminated. Before using this, she knocked her glasses to the floor and could not find them.
