This fence gate latch is exactly what I expected for the price. I installed it on a 6' high X 3' wide horizontal board fence in our backyard. The horizontal boards are 6 inches wide to give you an idea of scale if you review the image. The latch looks good and seems to be fairly sturdy, but I would not consider it to be "heavy duty." It is only accessible from one side of the fence and is not lockable which is what we needed. Simple to install and comes with same color screws. Overall a good value for the price.

I needed a latch for a storage door so wind wouldn’t blow it open. Worked perfectly. Holds door shut tight.

Love the easy instal and stylish look

I picked this latch hook for exterior use, and so far it's doing the job. I kind of wish I'd picked up the padlock version so I could lock it, and maybe I will later.The most important thing is to make the gap between the door and frame are very narrow, because otherwise this won't work. There is a little flexibility because the latch doesn't have to fit exactly (you have maybe a 1/2 of an inch to move it back and forth), but that's it.As for the quality, it's just okay. I believe it is pressed steel, but it doesn't have the heft for that. Is this a forever latch?I don't believe so.It is easy to install (you could install it with a screwdriver), but it doesn't come across as durable or sturdy. The screws are 1/2", and could easily pull out of the wood.4/5*
