Great idea but poor Quality issues
1 Star Lasted a year- July 2021 to July 2022. Poor quality, and it finally gave up completely. After a few months reduced to three stars due to quality issue. Full review below quality explanation The metal wire framework punctured through the material. End caps of the metal umbrella framework are rubber and the ends punctured through the rubber and then through the umbrella. Last photo attached shows the metal wire and the rubber end cap. I was able to replace with plastic ends from an old umbrella and salvage it. Tldr; Not easy to put up or down as advertised and dashboard scratching risk. This closes up tightly into a small form as advertised. After a dozen times you get good at putting it up without risk of scratching the dash. Pictures taken with shade opened in front of the rear view mirror and then behind rear view mirror. 2nd picture hard to see rear view mirror because of the black pattern on top of my windshield. 2015 rav4 If you put the top part of the shade behind your rear view mirror (close to driver) then it doesn't fit tight to the windshield. So there's an air pocket that could heat up and travel into the cabin anyway. If you stretch it in front of the rear view mirror (close to windshield) then it fits tight to the wind shield. It is not putting pressure on your rear view mirror mounting in either position. Next iteration should have extra material on the top center with an elastic border to fit around the rear view mirror better. (Top is where the velcro wrap cord is, seems to cover my window better that way) Not easy to open to the right spot above the dashboard and close to windshield in one movement like on TV. Open umbrella to where it starts to spread out 1/3 of the way open. Then move bottom closer into windshield area without scratching dashboard. Now open to 90% and tuck the material under the rear view mirror close to windshield. So rear view mirror should be behind the shade in the cabin. Pull down visors and complete opening. Even after the center clicks into place you sometimes have to click the outer metal frames flat as well It is a smaller form factor than a roll up sun shade when closed Also, this is made from the same material on a regular umbrella so I'm curious how well it will keep the car cool vs the thicker roll up shade I currently have. /After using a couple months it does as good a job as the roll up shades do keeping the heat out and steering wheel cool

Great item if you understand its limits and use
Reading the comments one would think folks expect a device like this to be made of gold and form-fitted for each and every vehicle ever made. If that is your expectation, I agree with those folks, look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a window shade that opens like an umbrella (think no more of those wire rimmed devices you can never get back to their original shape so they fill your entire back seat between uses), this device is worth a look. My 2001 Toyota Avalon windshield is a bit too big for this device to fully cover and my rearview mirror is a hassle as there is no cutout in the shield for a mirror, but it still covers more than 98% of my windshield and it is easy enough to slide it under the mirror when putting it up. What I LOVE the most is it opens and closes with ease and fits in the glove box when not in use. Major CON: no doubt this thing will not last long. The inside mechanisms are all made of flimsy plastic and after 2 uses it is clear they won't last long. I do hope being careful with the device I can prolong its life, but time will tell, for now I will just be easy with it and hope for the best.

Decent quality if it will fit your car.
Knowing that fit is the biggest issue with things like this I bought this Brella Shade as well as the one made by Sharper Image hoping at least one would fit. This one isn't it. It doesn't have a cutout for the rearview mirror so it has to sit in front of it which doesn't keep the sun and heat off the dash or even the visors needed to hold it in place. It's also shaped wrong, like a rectangle with rounded corners, and it's much too small for my car. The other one I got has the cut out and fits the windshield of my 2006 Toyota Highlander snugly and perfectly - Exactly what I need for the 120+ degree days we're expecting soon. The handle on this one feels cheap and unscrews right off the rod. The sleeve is handy and decent quality but the time it takes to wrap the thing tight enough to fit inside it.... a hassle I wouldn't bother with more than once or twice before abandoning the idea in favor of getting on the road or out of a hot car. I considered keeping this for use on side windows since it would work perfectly for that but ultimately returned it to get another one from Sharper Image. The rationale being that both would work on the windshield when one eventually dies in this heat. Again, it's all about fit so if this size and shape works for you it's a decent quality shade aside from the handle.

It Pops Open Like An Umbrella, But It Covers the Windshield!
My mom purchased this item over 10 years when they had As Seen On TV infomercials on TV. Well, I thought it was a dumb item, but when my sunshade no longer worked, I decided to try her gift to me. I'm not sure of the actually name at that time, other than As Seen On TV Infomercial. Anyway, I feel in love with it. It finally broke, so I went on Amazon to see if I could located this item. I was shocked that this item was still on the market and Amazon had it. This Ontel Brella Shield covered my Nissan windshield, it's very light weight with a carrying case, and it is cute. I liked it so much, I just ordered another one for my sons' car. I highly recommend this.

6 mo life span and a scratched windshield
This fit my Camry well and was easy enough to open/ close and store. However, the middle spokes are covered by very thin fabric that wore off almost immediately and it scratched the inside of my windshield quite a bit over time. Lasted 6 months total before the plastic stem snapped off when i picked it up one day- no rough handling at all. Poor quality.

Quick and easy to use.
The Brella Shield is a huge improvement over the folding type sun blockers. The wife and I really like them. It does have some flaws that should be addressed which could possibly lead to better sales in the future. Issue #1) The steel wires that project to the outer edge that slips into a pocket should be made to where the length can be modified for better fit. This would require the addition of a series of maybe 2 or 3 pockets for the wire to slip in. Issue #2) The product should come in at least 2 sizes. The current size and another that is 6 inches longer. The current size is a good length for my wife's Escape with the bending of 2 wires. The fit in my Chevrolet Silverado was fair. It was 3 inches too short on each side. The final issue and most critical is the umbrella staff/ shaft is centered on the product and when put in place bears hard against the plastic dash. I know it would look odd to move the staff/shaft 2 to 3 inches off center on the narrow side/height. This would prevent the the staff/shaft from contacting the dash.

Quebrou com apenas um mês e meio de utilização. Muito caro para um material tão frágil. Não valeu a pena.

Best Product having Good quality material
This is an excellent and cost-effective solution to keep your beloved car cooler (less super-heated) in open parking, especially when the sun is blazing overhead. It also helps prevent dashboard deterioration, ensuring a longer lifespan for your vehicle’s interior. Plus, it’s simple to set up and remove, convenience at its best!

Car shade
Great idea to use for our SUV. Was worried it might be too small, but we have a 2019 Yukon, and fits with about 3" open on one side. So not too bad. Would be nice if the handle could be maneuvered to not block our DVD screen, we watch movies in the ferry line up.
