It is very strong and I doubt I could ever bend it. It came sharp enough for me, will easily cut through small roots and slip into almost any soil. I use it for weeding, cultivating, planting bulbs in turf grass, planting small plants (for larger plants I use a wider trowel or small shovel), smoothing the soil (use the side of the whole knife), cutting through turf that is invading the irrigation system, all sorts of things. I like the sharp point, it makes it easier push into the soil (unlike forked knives I have used). The orange handle makes it easy to find when you lay it down. The stainless steel makes it essentially rust-free. I like tools and gadgets and have bought and tried many sorts of soil knives, trowels, weeders, and other things through the years and this is the best by far. After watching me use it for many tasks, other gardeners in my community gardening asked where to buy it.I wish I could get a nylon sheath. The leather is sturdy and nice looking, but leather holds water. While it will not hurt the stainless knife I still would prefer a nylon sheath that would not retain moisture. All I need to carry with me is the soil knife and a pruner to do the yard work in my perennials, roses, shrubberies and annuals. It is great for dividing perennials, cutting twine, cutting through roots, planting bulbs and other plants, AND it is tougher than nails! I like the orange handle, since I tend to lose my tools. Be sure to get the Sheath with it, so it is always by your side.
