Belkin F5D5130-5 Ethernet 5 Port Networking Switch

Product was manufactured in 2009 and is obsolete, should be sold as used or 2nd hand. It had compUSA price tags on the box.

I purchased this switch back in 2004 without having done any research or reading any reviews. It is still in use with Cable Internet and works great. A few times I had high latency and packet loss, but I isolated the issue to the Wireless Access Point (Netgear WPN824v3).Make sure that you research the type of network device you need before purchasing. A Router is different that a Network Switch.My Setup:I have a FreeBSD Server running PF as a Firewall/Router connected to the Belkin F5D5130-5 to distribute the connections.I have experienced burstable speeds up to 26 mbps. Currently, I have a Vonage VoIP box and a Netgear WPN824v3 Router (used as a wireless AP only) connected to the switch.Here's a speed test from the Macbook > Netgear WPN824v3 > Belkin F5D5130-5 > FreeBSD Server > Internet.[...]

I have no trouble saying this piece of hardware functions the way it is supposed to. Big deal right? But sometimes products don't even do the one thing they are supposed to and I don't get it, like tape that doesn't tape, or scissors that won't cut, etc. Anyways this isn't one of them, and I have no idea why I'm writing this review. Good for Sharing internet if you don't have DSL, otherwise you would need a router, not just a switch. I bought the switch and have DSL. Oh yeah that's why I'm writing this, I have one for sale, here on amazon, it is unused and complete, if this is what you need than save some money, I'm selling it cheap, I don't need it.

I received what was expect and so far the router has been performingwell.
