Lid never seemed to close right after the first month of use. Hinge broke this week. The company won’t honor the warranty because the product was bought on Amazon. Only lasted three months.

Definitely a good choice for a kitchen trash can that is visible in your kitchen. I searched online extensively for quality with good looks and this is exactly what I was hoping for.Rose gold color is subtle and nice looking.I was concerned about the standard 13 gallon drawstring bags fitting and staying in place and this can does a great job with that! No slipping bags. This can holds more than you think as the slim design camouflages the size.Easy to clean and empty and replace bags.Shipped as promisedI would absolutely recommend this product!!

This trash can was a HUGE investmant for us. We’ve never spent so much money on something like this but we needed a can with a lid that closed due to our can being in a drafty area and the smells wafting around the house. At first it was great but in less than a month, the lid stopped closing. I’m so disappointed. I thought that shelling out so much cash would guarantee a decent result. Nope. See pic- that’s how much the lid descends on its own and even if i push it down with my hand, it pops up. Don’t mind the floors. We’re mid-demo.

Got this can in January 2018. Loved the look of it and how nicely the lid shut. Now the lid will not close all the way. Sometimes it will barely shut 1/2 way. I used a silicone spray on the parts that move, but that didn't fix. Pretty bad when you spend$100 on a garbage can and it stops working properly after six months.

This trash can is worth the money! I owned another Simplehuman trash can, it lasted 10 years. This one is better made and I love the color. I anticipate another 10 years if use with this one.

I have two other Simplehuman trash cans I like much better. The lid on this one does not open more than about 60% which I find irritating. It is much lighter than the other two and each time I use it I tend to move it around. I will keep it but I am regretting the choice. The only redeeming feature is that it is slim enough to fit into a narrow space allowing for better function of my kitchen.

Recently purchased new black stainless appliances and wanted to finish off our kitchen with new trash can. This can is perfect. Not only does it match our new appliances,but the way it hides the trash bags makes it look neat and clean. The quiet close lid is also a great product design. Worth the high cost.

This trash can is awesome! I love simplehuman, they do make truly simple yet good quality products, designed to fit the spaces you have. Looks sleek and beautiful, works wonderfully, has a soft quiet lid close mechanism, isn't a particularly heavy item, and the liner holding rim is the best! It seems expensive for a trash can at first but it's totally worth it, especially given the 10 year warranty. (I also have two small simplehuman bathroom trashcans and they're also awesome).Also, when I first ordered this it arrived with a small dent in the lid and when I told Amazon they immediately issued a return and exchange, and reordered the new item for me. I'm impressed with the operations and customer service on this item, and the new one arrived without a problem or any damage.
