Fabulous smart lock -we love it.
I recently bought this lock after lengthy research as to its worthiness as a lock. After all, a smart lock can have lots of bells and whistles, but if it's not actually a good lock, then why buy it? So far, we love it. The fingerprint feature is our favorite way to use it. We haven't had any issues with it not recognizing our fingerprints, but we did do a quite thorough scan of our fingers when we set up our access, so maybe that helped. We also have eufy Cam Pro 2 security cameras that we love. The lock and the cameras can all be monitored and accessed via the Eufy Security app. It was easy to install, but don't overtighten the bolts, and make sure to add it to your Eufy Security app after you install it and before you try to pair it to your phone's Bluetooth. Once you add it to the app, it'll pretty much automatically walk you through the set up easily and painlessly. The paperwork that comes with it says the battery is at least 30% charged, and to charge it fully right away. Mine appears to be almost fully charged right from the box, but I'll charge it overnight just to make sure. You can lock/unlock the phone with the app from anywhere, or via fingerprint, or code, or the keys that come with it. They are specialized keys and they give you five. We used they keys a couple of times just to test them, but we won't normally be using them, unless the battery goes dead. (If the battery goes dead and you don't have your key, but you have a battery block with you, you can connect the block to the lock and then use your code, fingerprint, or app to unlock it.... Then charge the battery and you're good to go for the next time.) The one complaint I have seen from other people is that, unlike another brand, it doesn't have a sensor to confirm whether your door is actually truly closed. So if you dash out, then halfway to where you're going you realize (or think) you didn't lock the door and you remotely lock it.... But your door is open.... The app will confirm you locked the lock, but it won't confirm that the door was actually shut when you locked it. But for us, that probability is nil, so it's not a feature that we would miss. We currently have set up codes and fingerprints for ourselves, our kids, grandkids, and other family members. We actually set up two different fingerprints for ourselves, just because we could. It's easy to add codes and fingerprints, and easy to delete them, too. So if you no longer want to give someone access, just open the app and delete them. Also, since names are assigned to the fingerprints/codes you can see who locked/unlocked in the app. You can, of course, use fake names if someone is concerned about that. It can also alert you when there are failed attempts to unlock it, like if an unauthorized person tried to enter a incorrect code. It also has an autolock feature and you can choose the amount of time it'll wait before autolocking. We haven't used that feature yet. There are more features and settings that I haven't described here, and haven't used yet.

Well made and must have
When I first received the box and opened it, I was immediately impressed by the high quality metal that the lock was made of. I then went to my door to switch out everything and ran into a few stumbling blocks, like when I put everything together screws and all, the plug came out on the inside, so I had to take everything apart, plug it back up, and screw everything back in again. Then I realized that the battery pack needed to be charged, so I had to go plug that in and charge it. Then I was having a few issues with the app, which I had to uninstall and install a few different times. At least setup was a breeze as long as you follow the step-by-step instructions and not try to skip anything. Another thing that I didn't like, was how hard it is to get the battery cover off and on of the lock itself. After everything was hooked up and ready to go, Iike programming the lock with my phone, inputting my code and fingerprint, which was pretty easy and effortless. I begin testing it out and making sure everything worked. There were no issues when scanning my fingerprint, adding the code, using the app to lock and unlock the door, and pushing the button to lock the door from the outside. What I don't like, is the fact that when you lock the door from the outside, you have to hold the lock button for a few seconds. It would be nice if you could just push it once and it locks. I would also like to input more than one code for different people. Other than that, this lock set is phenomenal! I don't ever recall thinking this about a product before, but I think this one is underpriced for everything you get! The Wi-Fi is a big plus, to lock and unlock your door from anywhere for anyone. I also love the notifications of when the doors unlocked and locked. I also sent my daughter a link so she can have the same type of access I have, and she loves it! She especially likes the fact that when she has a lot of grocery bags in her hand, she doesn't have to fumble with the key to unlock the door, she can just unlock the door with the app before she even gets out the car. I also like the really cool feature, of how the door can automatically lock, if you set it, when it's closed. There has been a few different times when my daughter and myself has forgotten to lock the door. This is a must-have for anyone who appreciate quality and well made products!

Learning curve, works in 110 degree direct sun
If installing for family they need to ensure the door is latched at the bottom before unlocking deadbolt. I observed them trying to open door at the bottom to see if unlocked and then putting fingerprint which causes deadbolt to jam and wont open. They have to pull shut then fingerprint or code. I would like to see an option to buy another battery as a backup. Otherwise you need to find a time to charge batteryโmaybe overnight while all asleep. Build quality is nice and unlocks quickly. When you grant guest access to someone and it emails them, they can only use the app to unlock. App should allow them to register their own fingerprint. Otherwise I have to register their fingerprint as administrator. Nice that under one person you can register multiple finger printsโI tried five with no issue. The ability to schedule a code for say cleaning crew for certain days and times is niceโ canโt schedule a particular date which would be good if you have a one time vendor coming in. You get 5 Keys, which is good because these are special keys that are not easy to duplicateโno bumping or picking this lock. The deadbolt strike reinforcement plate needs 3โ+ screws to ensure it grips into door frame. I do wish you could configure unlocking alerts by user vs getting an alert for every unlock event. Need search feature on the security logs so you can see all events of certain type or by user. I paired this with Yale P5101N01 Navis Paddle Passage Lever (Push/Pull to Open), Hands-Free Opening โ Push with Your Hip, Satin Nickel โnot a perfect match but close in color. I do like they put thread locker on bolts to secure each side but suggest they also do the same for screws for back battery box. I like the silicon seal on both sides to seal out drafts and water. Very easy install. In Dallas 110 degree direct sunlight this lock functions fine, while very hot to put your thumb on the reader it works as expected. Really happy with this after severals months of use. I like the fact you can set the auto lock function timeโI have found one minute to be best. This way if I remember I can manually lock and save battery, also if just stepping out to pickup package it will not lock right away. Great to be able to turn off for a party or set it to auto lock after the party automatically in case you forget! To lock right after leaving you just tap your thump/finger on outside and it locks.

Nice Looking And Easy Installation, But...
I recently bought this smart lock to replace an aging keypad lock. Overall, this is a good product. It is easy to install and to program, with the App. I didn't use all the hardware it came with it, since I already had reinforced hardware installed. So, it took me less than 30 minutes to install it and get it programmed. Now, the but. One feature I liked about the old keypad lock was the auto lock. However, you can only set it to 15, 30, 45, or 60 seconds. But, it worked reliably. This feature in the Eufy smart lock is not so smart -- at least, the software doesn't work that good. I tried setting the auto lock to different timeouts. But, it only works the first time. Subsequent times the door will not lock until the default 3-minute timeout. 3 minutes is simply too much time, if you are leaving for a while and you forgot to lock. I hope Eufy will fix this, since it is fixing via software. Other than that, the App is easy to use and it keeps logs. The fingerprint feature works fine. By the way, you must enter a passcode in order to register fingerprints for each user, which it is sort of annoying, since it has to be unique per user.

Impressive Upgrade from August - Outstanding Performance and Customer Service!
I recently switched to the eufy Smart Lock from August, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This smart lock offers a remarkable upgrade in both performance and user experience. The fingerprint feature on the eufy Smart Lock works like magic! It responds lightning-fast, granting access to my home with just a touch of my finger. The convenience and speed of this feature alone make it stand out from other smart locks I've used before. The accompanying app has been a pleasant surprise as well. It's incredibly user-friendly and provides seamless control over the lock. Whether I'm granting access to guests or checking the lock's status remotely, the app's reliability has impressed me. Shortly after purchasing the eufy Smart Lock, I encountered a minor tech issue. However, the standout feature of my experience was the exceptional customer service provided by eufy. I had to reach out twice, and both times, the same attentive representative answered my call and even remembered our previous interaction. She handled the situation with utmost professionalism and courtesy. To my delight, eufy quickly shipped a free replacement, and to my astonishment, it arrived the very next day! Their swift response and proactive approach to resolving the issue reaffirmed my confidence in the brand. In conclusion, I highly recommend the eufy Smart Lock to anyone seeking a reliable and feature-packed smart lock. Its impressive fingerprint sensor and user-friendly app make it a standout performer. Moreover, eufy's top-notch customer service sets a new standard for excellence in the industry. I am genuinely satisfied with my purchase and look forward to exploring more products from eufy in the future. Kudos to the eufy team for crafting an outstanding smart lock and delivering unparalleled customer support!

Abysmal Battery Life. Stay Far, FAR Away!
I'm not new to smart locks. I had a Yale Assure smart lock on my previous house's front door for 7 years. It worked great, and the only thing I ever had to do was replace the 4 AA batteries every 12 - 15 months. When I moved to a new house in July 2021, I opted to go with this Eufy smart lock on my front door because I liked the fingerprint capability, but I also installed two Yale Assure smart locks on my back door and interior garage door. The Eufy installation process itself was very easy because Eufy labels each part as "Step 1", "Step 2", and so on. A very nice touch. The build quality of the physical lock is also terrific. Its feel is very solid and very premium. I had high hopes. Unfortunately, this Eufy smart lock uses a proprietary lithium-ion battery pack rather than AA batteries that most smart locks use, and within about 3 weeks of installation, I received a "low battery" alert. This was despite following the directions to fully charge the battery before use. I thought maybe it was a fluke, charged the battery pack again, and reinstalled it. Within two weeks --- a week sooner than before --- I received another "low battery" alert, so I called Eufy support to report an issue with the battery pack and asked for a replacement battery under warranty. Eufy support told me they had ZERO replacement batteries available to send (red flag!), so instead they sent me a completely new smart lock unit, which obviously included a battery. Upon receipt of the replacement Eufy smart lock, I installed it on August 27, 2021, charged the battery to full, and put it in the lock. On September 6th --- just over a week after install --- I received a "low battery" alert. I called Eufy support to report an even worse battery life on the replacement lock and was told that "high activity will drain the battery faster than the advertised life." I literally facepalmed at that response. I checked my event history in the Eufy app, and in that one week timeframe, I averaged 7 locks/unlocks per day, so "high activity" was not a valid excuse for a dead battery in one week's time. Additionally, my back door and interior garage door see double the usage of my front door, and the Yale Assure locks installed showed 99% and 96% battery life, respectively. At that point, the Eufy rep told me that the only thing they can do at this point is refund me, which is what I chose to do. I've since installed another Yale Assure lock on my front door, and have had zero issues. The real shame here is that I really liked the Eufy lock when it was working. The fingerprint function was quick and reliable, the management of the lock via the Eufy app was well done, and again, the build quality and appearance of the lock are premium. Clearly, however, there is an issue with this lock draining the battery life, and without power, it's no better than having a regular deadbolt on your door. For that reason, I can't recommend anyone buy the Eufy smart lock. In fact, I would urge people to stay far, far away from it. Side note: I have a "prosumer" network setup at home, so I can see who my top talkers (i.e. devices using the most traffic) are on my network. When I looked, the Eufy smart lock was regularly a top talker as it was constantly sending/receiving data. In fact, during the time I had the Eufy smart lock installed at my house (about 90 or so days), it both sent and received over 6 GBs of data; about 71 MBs in and out per day, which is an abnormal amount for any IoT device, let alone a simple smart lock. When I asked Eufy about why their smart lock constantly sends/receives data, they couldn't provide me with a definitive answer. They guessed it was due to firmware updates, which is incorrect because firmware updates don't happen daily. My speculation is that they're constantly sending data to the Eufy cloud, and that this constant transfer of data is what's draining the battery so quickly.

Easy to use, easy to install, great for a family with children!
I love this lock and have already recommended it to several friends! Lock for families with children: This was great for my kids! No keys to lose and no passcode to remember (or have them tell to their friends) made this lock a great addition. They always have their fingerprints! My younger children (4 & 6) took a little longer to get the prints working (2 minutes instead of 1), but my 8 year old had no issues. The kids love to show it off to their friends! Peace of Mind: Now I know who unlocks/locks the door, when they unlock/lock it, and if the door is unlocked/locked. I set up grandparents with access so they no longer need a key. Anyone with a profile on the lock can be scheduled to use the lock all the time, or only for specific times or days. Install: I was able to install this lock with no major issues at all. That said, I did have to remove a little wood from the door jamb so that the security plate and finish plate both fit (I didn't previously have the heavy duty security plate). If I wasn't using the security plate, no mods would've been required. No modifications needed to be made to my existing door. Pros: Easy to install, no Wi-Fi bridge needed, great for kids, cool rounded key Cons: None really, but if I get nitpicky...The first is that the lock must charge before the first use. You'll need a few hours of charging before it is charged. Number two - the door must be fully lined up for deadbolt to work. This shouldn't be an issue for most doors, but if the door is closed but not seated properly, the deadbolt may fail to actuate. It will give you an error so you are aware of the issue.

A very good smart lock
There is a lot I like about this smart lock, but I must admit it takes a little getting used to. It doesn't always accept my fingerprint since I'm 60 years old and my skin is a little dry. But as I use it more it gets easier. The numbers don't always register either, but I think that has more to do with me getting used to it, rather than a failing of the product. My 14 year old niece can get in and out without any problem. The lock doesnt seem at all hard to install. Eufy makes it very easy. I have no doubt that I could install one. However, in my case, I hired a pro to install it since my door is metal and I needed some modifications done to make sure the deadbolt moved smoothly. I was interested to hear what the locksmith would say about the lock since his company supported another brand. As it turned out, he seemed quite pleased about the construction and how well it fit into place. It was fairly easy to connect to Alexa, and while Alexa can lock the door without any problem, I'm still having trouble getting Alexa to unlock the door. I may still figure it out eventually but frankly with auto lock turned on I don't really need Alexa to operate the lock all that much anyway. I've only had it in for four days now, so I can't really comment on the battery life yet, but all in all so far I'm very pleased with the Eufy Touch Wifi.

Lock that works
It's a sleek looking lock that works as required. Finger print is instant. The app has all the features expected from the lock. My personal favorite is the auto lock feature, that will lock the door automatically even if you've forgotten to do so after leaving the house or going to bed. Comes with a clean looking app. Best part, I no longer need to carry my keys with me.

Very poor customer support -
I purchased 3 Eufy locks and 2 video doorbells for outside gates. Planning to have 2 lock/doorbells paired through Eufy app as advertised. When doorbell rings the notification enables you to respond to visitor but the screen does not allow you to unlock the door. This is a software problem. Eufy technical support has been terrible. They sometimes respond every 24-48 hours between contacts and will not answer or make a phond call to discuss. They ask for videos to be sent which I have done on numerous occasions. They change the enquiry ticket number repeatedly and so I expect it is difficult to keep track of the issue. Infortunately it is too late to get a refund from Amazon. Eufy have offered nothing in the way of help - no offer to replace. Terrible company with poor support. A waste of about ยฃ2000.00. Will never buy Eufy products again.

Reliable and useful
Bought this in 2023 for our vacation home and it's been a great purchase. The battery lasts a long time and the app is easy to use. Must happier with this than with Eufy security cameras I bought at the same time. They no longer work.

Best smart lock
Perfect. Best smart lock. Alexa compatibility if great. The variable options to open from finger print to code to alexa or actual key is marvelously. Built in Wifi also makes it easy to control from anywhere in the world and get notifications of who opens and locks ur door from family members
