Terrific Tech Support

I am so frustrated with ACT. I had Act2000, upgraded to v3. I was using XP Pro and switched both computers to Win7Pro. I was told I had to upgrade my old ACT to 2006 to switch to the new computer. I put 2011 on the new laptop. After three four hour calls with tech support, I was told I needed to have ACTv16 on the new computers. So, in buying two new computers, I had to purchase three versions of ACT to make the switch. I spent 16 hours on the phone with tech support. Four hours with one tech trying to gain remote access. Tech support is horrible. I ended up hiring a computer friend that has never worked in ACT and he successfully transferred the database. He said there was no reason for me to buy all these versions that ACT said to buy. Also, I have tried several times to register the product and can't even get through on customer service. I have left messages to tech support twice with no return calls. ACT crashes on a daily basis and gives me error messages about being an administrator in Outlook and ACT, which I am.If there was another product on the market, I would be using it. After 15 years of using ACT, this has to be the worst. Slow to open, fields have changed. Notes and emails are split, so I have to hunt through emails and notes for information. This has cost me more time and money than if I would have hand transferred my 3000 clients.Update: I have now been using ACTv16 for six months. Email still crashes. ACT updates weren't working. I have resolved that issue. I constantly get an error message that ACT email editor is not configured. I have done everything advised and still am having issues. The transfer from my desktop to my laptop has to be done via backup to flash drive and is time consuming. I would give anything to have my old ACTv3 back. I previously had no issues with ACT or Outlook, but don't think my current issues with the new ACT will ever be resolved.Update. Here it is 18 months later, another 30+ hours and six weeks on with ACT Tech Support and ACTv16 still does not work. I downgraded to Word 2010. Thought that might help. Nope. Bought another Office 2013 suite, figuring perhaps the other was corrupt. Have uninstalled and reinstalled ACT and Word. Have run fixit/repair on Word. And, within a day of hearing tech support has resolved my issues, I am still getting message could not be sent, message could not be saved, SQL server not running, no address book setup, ACT email is not longer working and still no history being recorded. This is a productivity killer.Update 2016: Finally, found a great consultant, thanks to an online offer. ACTv17 works fantastic, but only if you're using Outlook for your email. If you use ACT email, you are out of luck. I switch back to ACT email for groups sometimes and all crashes. I don't like their Emarketing portal because it is so slow, but I have to use it since all my groups are in ACT and not Outlook. I find it appalling that Swiftpage has not figured out a way to have their own ACT email work, especially since it is offered in setup.

Purchased Act version 16 as an upgrade from our previous version of Act, version 2011. Got around to installing the upgrade this week and ACT will not honor the registration codes. They say this version should never have been sold and can not be activated past the 30 day trial period. Would appreciate a full refund!!!

As with every upgrade they fix & improve somethings & delete or make difficult things that I liked with previous versions.

They haven't changed nearly enough features since the 2011 version. Nothing good regarding facebook, LinkedIn etc.

This is a great product. I would recommend it for any small company wanting to track sales leads.

Delivered on time and installation was easy. Still working with the integration with Window Outlook 2010

You can't find a better product for the job.
